Kapamilya star Jericho Rosales was excited on the upcoming premiere of his first time ever international indie film “Subject: I Love You” at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 30.
The film was based on a destructive computer program created by a Filipino programmer whom played by Jericho Rosales. The program successfully attacked tens of millions of Windows computers in 200 including computer systems at the Pentagon, Parliament and the CIA.
The action-packed/romantic movie was filmed last 2009 together with Hollywood stars like Briana Evigan (from Step Up 2) played the love interest of Victor, and Dean Cain (Clark Kent/Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.) Dante Basco(voice of Zuko in Avatar), Kristin Bauer (True Blood), Lauren Bittner, Andrew Leeds, Luisse Belle Pressman. “Subject: I Love You” was produced by Barclay DeVeau and written and directed by Francis dela Torre. Filipino artists Joel Torre, Gary Valenciano and Black Eyed Peas singer Apl De Ap are also in the film’s cast.
On an interview of Yahoo! OMG! Philippines with the actor said that it is a dream come true for a local artist like him to have an opportunity to have a film that will be shown internationally. He feels proud and excited yet humbled of this project.
Jericho also shared that difference of working on a Hollywood movie as against local productions. “I wish Philippines could have money to produce those kinds of films. I wish that the support of the Filipinos will be doubled,” he told Yahoo! OMG! Philippines.
He also requested the government to support and push the anti-piracy campaign in the country because he believes that Filipino movies could also compete on international industries. The world is a stage and now is the time for Filipinos to shine,” Jericho said.
