Philippines’ pride, Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Shamcey Supsup, has won the 4th place (3rd Runner-Up) in the 60th Miss Universe beauty pageant in Sao Paulo Brazil.
During the coronation night, Shamcey had won 2nd Place in the evening gown competition. She has been reported as the fan favourite in the online poll. With this, the Filipinos have high hopes that Shamcey will win the Miss Universe title.
From the Top 16 semi-finalists, Shamcey has made its way to the Top 10. Among the candidates who also made it to the top 10 are: Australia (Scherri-Lee Biggs), Costa Rica (Johanna Solano), France (Laury Thilleman), Ukraine (Olesya Stefanko), Portugal (Laura Goncalves), Panama (Sheldry Saez), Angola (Leila Lopes), China (Luo Zilin), and Brazil (Priscila Machado). As the tension in the pageant grew, the excitement of the Filipino viewers amplified when the country’s representative has been announced to be included in the Top 5 Finalists.
In the Question and Answer portion of the final round of the pageant, Shamcey confidently and intelligently answered the question asked by Judge Vivica A. Fox.
“Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love? Why or why not?“ the judge asked.
The beautiful Miss Philippines answered “If I had to change my religious beliefs, I will not marry the person that I love. Because the first person that I love is GOD who created me. And I have my faith and my principles. And these what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God too, Thank you.”
