Dingdong Dantes: Ignore The Issue About His Being Nominated As Best Actor

The Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) asked Dingdong Dantes about the issue of questioning his nomination as Best Actor in Golden Screen Awards of Entertainment Press Society, Inc.

The issue occurs when Laguna Governor ER Ejercito comments on DingDong Dantes being nominated for Best actor in his role on the movie Segunda Mano.

Governor ER is not included on the nominees of Best actor for Golden Screen Awards for his role in Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story.

While they are both nominated as Best Actor in Metro Manila Film Festival 2011 Awards Night, where Dingdong is the one who awarded as Best Actor.

And they are also nominated as Best Actor in Star Awards for Movies of Philippine Movie Press Club.

Based on award winning actor Dingdong Dantes, “I’m very flattered na the fact na napasama ako doon [nominees], napabilang ako doon, malaking bagay na sa akin ‘yon. So, salamat sa bumubo ng EnPress at saka sa PMPC, sobrang maraming salamat.”

Dingdong ignore the criticism about being nominated for Best Actor.

“Okay lang ‘yon. Free naman tayong magbigay ng assumptions, e, o magbigay ng kanya-kanyang opinyon. “If that’s their opinion, I respect it,” he said.

Dindong also said that the personal compliment he gets from the people is more important.

“I was in an event last week. Nakausap ko ang isa sa mga [MMFF] jurors last week, who happens to be the chairman of NCCA [National Commission for Culture and the Arts]. He was congratulating me dahil nga doon sa Best Actor [award] ko. Tapos nalaman ko na isa pala siya sa mga jurors. So, malaking bagay sa akin na at least ‘yong mga personal na ganung nagsasabi, it makes me feel na talagang deserving. Kahit ‘yong mga taong nagmamahal sa akin, ‘yong mga nakakasalubong ko, okay na sa akin ‘yon. Kasi, you can’t really please everybody. Kaya nga maraming genre ang pelikula. Hindi naman lahat, e, magugustuhan ang comedy. Hindi naman lahat magugustuhan ang horror. Hindi lahat magugustuhan ang action”, he said.
