Great Actress, Eula Valdes is back to theater via the musical play Nine.

Nine is based on a semi-autobiographical film by Italian director Federico Fellini. The story was focused to one director that will be celebrating his 40th birthday and experiencing midlife crisis which blocks him from creating ideas.

This has been made into movie last 2009 featuring Oscar-winners Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cuz, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, and Sophia Loren.

Cherie Gil, Sitti, Ima Castro, Menchu Lauchengco, and Jett Pangan will be with Eula in the Philippine adaptation of Nine.

Nine will be starting on September 21 at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in RCBC Plaza, Makati.

Eula being a part of Walang Hanggan, a primetime series on ABS-CBN… There’s a rumor going on that her role has no impact.

Eula replaced the character of Rita Avila being Jean Bonifacio/Black Lily.

She said, “Nung in-accept ko yung Walang Hanggan, alam na nila na I’m going to do Nine”

“So after nung Mundo Man Ay Magunaw, wala na ako dapat gagawing soap.”

“Kasi dito na ako magko-concentrate sa Nine and ayoko rin ng merong ibang work other than Nine.”

“Sino ba magsa-suffer? Ako din.”

“So ayokong pahirapan ang sarili ako.”

“May one and a half months na pagitan before mag-start ng rehearsals ng Nine, and nasa States ako noon when I got a call from my manager.”

“Sabi niya, pinapagawa nga sa akin yung Walang Hanggan.”

“Sabi ko, ‘Alam ba nila yung meron akong musical?”

“Alam naman nila and willing naman daw sila mag-adjust.”

“Work around the schedule ng rehearsals, so sabi ko, ‘Wow, e di why not?”

“And then they decided na gawin ulit o ituloy yung The Wedding.”

“Siyempre, para walang bad blood, nag-agree ako to finish it, to do it, yung The Wedding.”

“At the same time, pag weekends, may play ng ano… may show kami ng Zsazsa, so lagare ako both networks.”

“So ayoko nang ma-experience yun ever. Gusto ko lang naka-focus ako sa Nine.”

Her answer to intriguing issue that her role didn’t helped in the rating of Walang Hanggan, “Ang masasabi ko, ginawa ko lang yung makakaya ko.

So yun.”

“Yung karakter ko, bumalik siya not for revenge, but to seek justice… sana maintindihan nila na iyon yun.”
