Showbiz is such a small world. Actor Albie Casiño almost bumped into Jaclyn Jose, mother of his ex-girlfriend Andi Eigenmann at the AFP Theater, Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City where the 29th Star Awards for Movies was held on Sunday, March 10.
The new TV5 actor accompanied Dawn Balagot, who was nominated in the New Movie Actress of the Year category for the independent film “The Animals.” Jaclyn, on the other hand, presented the Movie Actress of the Year award. They arrived at the venue almost at the same time.
In an interview before he left the venue, Albie said he “possibly” could have given his respects to Jaclyn had he known she was in the vicinity.
Unfortunately, Jaclyn was not open to the idea. “Ay, hindi ko siya gustong makita,” she said of Albie. Asked what he thinks of Jaclyn’s reaction, Albie said: “I respect that. It’s not comfortable with anyone involved. That’s her emotion and I respect that.”
Would he still approach Jaclyn if ever they have a chance meeting? “Ngayon na alam kong di siya comfortable, hindi na, di ba?” he replied.
Albie added that he understands where Jaclyn is coming from.
Although he is yet to speak with Andi and her daughter Adrianna Gabrielle, Albie is happy for his ex-girlfriend, now that she seems to be in a better place. “I’m happy for her. Good for her. No more negative energy and that’s good for everyone.”
Does he plan to iron out issues between him and Andi? “Honestly, I think I have made an effort na to do that. You said naman na Andi’s happy so I don’t think there’s any need to (add fuel to) the fire,” Albie replied.
What would he do if he bumps into Andi in public or in a showbiz event? “Okay lang po. I’ll say hi, I guess. Para sa akin po, there’s no more bad blood,” Albie said.
Now that he’s with TV5, the star of the upcoming show “Cassandra: Warrior Angel” said he didn’t move to a different station because of his issues with Andi. “It’s just what’s best for everyone,” he said.
Given a choice, where would he want to work, ABS-CBN and TV5?
Albie answered: “No comment. I don’t want to talk about it.”
