Xian Lim looks forward to being paired onscreen with Kim Chiu again

Now that taping has started for Ina, Kapatid, Anak, Xian Lim said he is anxious for the new show to start airing soon. In the new Primetime Bida series, Xian is once again paired with Kim Chiu after their successful tandem in My Binondo Girl. So I’m hoping na tuloy-tuloy na kagad siya,” he said.

Xian said that even though it took awhile for them to do a project again, he and Kim had constant communication with each other whether it be through text or hanging out with her family. “Mabuti naman kami, we’re good friends. We’re close, we’re comfortable. From the start of My Binondo Girl where it was hi hello to now we trust each other. Of course, siyempre naman we text din. Nakakalabas ako sometimes with her, her brothers, and with her siblings,” he shared during the Promil Preschool i-Shine Talent Camp press conference held at the ABS-CBN compound last June 19.

The Fil-Chi heartthrob said he is having the time of his life right now being busy with new acting projects and the successful release of his debut album. “It’s fun. It’s what I’ve always wanted. Basically I’m enjoying [it],” he shared.

As one of the hosts of a new kiddie talent show which will feature the development of the talent of 12 Pinoy kids from all over the country, Xian said this is definitely a new kind of experience for him. “Nakakatuwa kasi I can relate kasi yung mommies and daddies nila super supportive. Eh yung mom ko ganun din so parang nakikita ko rin mommy ko sa kanila so talagang nakakatuwa naman. She never told me what to do. She was always supportive of what I wanted to do. Dito sa show makikita natin yung pag-nurture sa mga kids ages three to seven, meron silang kanya-kanyang mentors in acting, hosting, dancing, and singing and makikita talaga natin na lahat sila nag-shine during the process. Sa nakikita ko sa mga bata gusto talaga nila yung mga ginagawa nila kasi nag-e-enjoy sila eh,” he said.

Although he is comfortable being around kids, the talented actor-singer said he is not ready to have his own brood just yet. Not soon, but someday. I always say hindi pa naman ako nagiisip magkaanak now. I’m taking things things slow, just living each day like there’s no tomorrow. I take it step by step,” he explained.

As a kid, Xian revealed he was not as extroverted as the kids on their show. The 22-year-old hunk also shared why he enjoys watching the kiddie finalists during tapings. “Nung childhood days ko hindi ako much of a performer eh. Yung iba kasi may iniisip na ganun eh as we grow old. Pero sila, talagang they’re just having fun, laro lang sa kanila,” he said.

Edu Manzano shares some details about lovelife of children

What would you do if one of your sons is gay?

Bulgar entertainment editor Janice Navida asked Edu Manzano this question at the mini-press conference for Game ‘N Go hosts last June 13.
In a serious tone, Edu began, “Well, siguro, gagawin ko yung… sasabihin ko sa kanya, ‘Halika, biyahe tayo.’

“Dadalhin ko sa malayong lugar, kakausapin ko…’”

There was a brief pause before he continued, “‘Tapos iiwanan ko… na wala siyang pocket money, na wala siyang [kahit] ano…

“G**o ka, a… sipain kita… ‘Wag kang babalik sa bahay! Yung ganun.

His response elicited chuckles from the small group that attended the luncheon.

But kidding aside, he said, “Actually, right now, you can’t tell anymore, di ba?

“I would take my chance in whatever way.”

What’s important to him is having quality time with his three kids— Luis, 31, Amanda (Addie), 16, and Lorenzo, 14.

The TV5 host added, “You know, I’m just happy being with them. Lagi kong sinasabi yun. You think that sometimes money brings you great joy.

“Kita mo si Joey, trabaho nga pero he travels kasi it gives him much joy.

“Right now, ako, being with my children. Suwerte nga ako, my children are with me. So I derive such pleasure sa ’king mga anak.”

Does he meddle in his children’s lovelife?

Karla Estrada is proud of son Daniel Padilla’s acting

After joining showbiz almost two years ago via the teen-oriented show Gimik2010, Daniel Padilla has shown he has the acting chops to make it in showbiz. As Gino Dela Rosa in Princess and I, Daniel finally got the chance to delve into more dramatic scenes.

His mother Karla Estrada admitted even she was impressed by how much he has improved in his acting. But I am so happy kasi it came out naturally everything. Natutuwa ako every time napapanuod ko siya. Natural lang siya umarte. Yung hindi siya nag-e-effort and lumalabas naman ng maganda so masaya din ako sa ratings ng Princess and I at nakakapag-contribute si Daniel sa tagumpay nun,” she told Push.com.ph.

Despite her son’s busy work schedule, which also includes out-of-town shows and promotions for his first album Hinahanap-Hanap Kita, Karla said she has slowly learned to loosen her grip on her eldest son. “Ngayon mas maluwag kasi step by step naman yan eh.

Karla also stressed that fame has definitely not gotten to Daniel’s head, despite his fast growing fan base. She said that whenever he’s at home, he is still just like any regular teenager. The same pa rin siya, makulit pa rin actually,” she added.

During Daniel’s recent album launch, Karla and Daniel’s father Rommel Padilla both showed up onstage to surprise their son at the end of the show. And even though they parted ways years ago, Karla said she and Rommel still keep an open line of communication for their son.

Karla said that Daniel’s siblings are also very supportive of their kuya’s career path.

Karla also shared with Push.com.ph some lesser known trivia about her son. “Naku, sobrang maharot siya with the band (Daniel has a band called Parking 5). So hindi pa talaga sila yung binatang binata, playful pa sila, makukulit,” she said.

Charee Pineda says her main priority is her showbiz career

After ending with a high TV viewership during its finale last April, Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto will return to Kapamilya Gold’s afternoon slot very soon. But it’s a tall order for the people behind this teleserye to maintain another successful season according to lead actress Charee Pineda. “Yung bilin kasi sa amin maging number one kami. Kaya sobra yung effort na ginagawa namin. Nag-workshop pa kami at kailangan namin mag-immersion para maramdaman namin kahit papaano maging parents at kung paano maging magasawa kasi yun talaga yung core ng story,” said the 21-year-old in an interview with Push.com.ph during their recent cast pictorial.

At the same time, she’s very grateful to be given another huge project knowing that competition is very tight among the network’s pool of talented young stars.

Asked about her stand with regards to marriage, Charee believed that there’s no ideal age once a person decides to enter a lifetime commitment. “My mom got married at 18, so feeling ko wala naman sa age yun para masabi mo na ready ka.”

Incidentally, there have been a number of reports pertaining to her rumored engagement to her non-showbiz boyfriend. The guy is said to be a 32-year-old Chinese businessman who proposed to her while they were aboard a plane bound for Hong Kong last June 7. But the young actress refused to comment on the issue, stating that it’s “too soon” since she’s very focused on her showbiz career to think about settling down.

Jason Francisco approves of Azkals’ Misagh Bahadoran for Melai Cantiveros

Jason Francisco revealed that his rekindled friendship with Melai Cantiveros is getting better ever since their breakup last February. The two even went on a quick getaway with some of their friends last weekend. “The other night magkasama kami sa Paradise Resort sa Bulacan kasama ng mga fans tsaka friends namin. Lumalabas kami para bumalik yung dating saya at friendship,” he told Push.com.ph during the promo shoot for Angelito Book 2 last June 11.

Although Melai still feels a bit awkward around him, Jason said he feels that she no longer has feelings for him.

In fact, Jason is aware of Melai’s new admirer—Azkals’ midfielder Misagh Bahadoran. Hahaha! Ang gwapo! May lahi! Apparently, Misagh revealed in a recent interview in Bandila that Melai is his favorite actress because he finds her funny. They’ve also met in Showtime once.

Jason was quick to say, however, that he doesn’t feel jealous of Misagh and all he wants is for Melai to be happy.

At the same time, he hopes that Melai’s new admirers will take good care of her.

Toni Gonzaga considers Vice Ganda as one of her trusted friends

Toni Gonzaga is slated to do a comedy film with Vice Ganda and Luis Manzano within the year. With all the projects coming her way, members of the media asked if she has any lucky charm. The 28-year-old told Push.com.ph that she just prays for what’s best for her showbiz career.

Toni further shared that she’s excited to work with Vice whom she first met when the latter was just staring his showbiz career when in 2007. Apparently, they’ve become good friends since then. “The first project ni Vice na regular show sa TV is Maging Sino Ka Man (Book 2). Madaming konsepto ang pelikulang ito—it’s a mixture of romance, comedy and friendship—so excited kami.”

Knowing that Vice came a long way from doing bit roles to starring in a record-breaking box office hit, Toni said that he really deserves the fame and success that he’s enjoying at the moment.

Richard Yap Says His Wife Is Supportive Of His Team-Up With Jodi Sta. Maria

Best known for his role as Papa Chen in My Binondo Girl, Richard Yap has now landed a starring role in an upcoming teleserye opposite Jodi Sta. Maria. The showbiz newbie gave a few details about his latest acting stint during the story conference of the said show last June 6. “It’s a story of a widower who finds true love in another person na naging part ng family niya. I play a businessman who has kids na kailangan alagaan. He needs somebody who’ll take care of them at si Jodi yun.”

Richard said that he’s familiar with Jodi’s works and he can’t wait to see how viewers would respond to their team-up. “I am really excited to work with Jodi kasi sobrang galing niya. Pinapanood ko siya sa 100 Days. Jodi is a very nice person and she’s so easy to work with. I think were going to have a very good working relationship. [Giving us our very own teleserye] is such a big responsibility and I would like to give my best in this project so they’d see that it’s worth it.”

Aside from this new soap, Richard is also part of the top-rating teleserye Walang Hanggan as Dawn Zulueta’s business partner/love interest. Despite his lack of background in acting, he’s very grateful that ABS-CBN has given him a huge break in showbiz. “I am thankful to ABS-CBN kasi ang daming projects ang ibinigay nila sa akin after My Binondo Girl, there’s Walang Hanggan and this one also. I will try to do my best na ipakita sa kanila na they are not wrong in giving me this project. Sobrang thankful ako. And to be working with stars na ang gagaling especially now with Jodi, I feel so blessed.”

Julia Montes Talks About Her Transformation From Class Bully To Teleserye Beauty

In StarStudio Magazine’s June issue, Walang Hanggan star Julia Montes (a.k.a. Mara Schnittka) proudly showed her new two-storey home in Antipolo. Thanks to her earnings since her Mara Clara days, she was able to purchase a house for her family at the age of 17. Nanibago ako nung una at sobrang saya. Iba yung feeling na ito yung pinagpuyatan ko,” she cheerfully said in the interview.

Julia also shared why the dominant theme of the house is the color red. Apparently, she has never been a girly girl even as a kid. She used to be the feisty type who wouldn’t back out of a fight against boys who bully her friends. Kilala ako na nagpapaiyak ng lalaki,” she admitted with a laugh.

Grab a copy of StarStudio Magazine and get to know more about Julia’s fun childhood memories, how she handles fame and the intrigues that come with it and why she’s a self-confessed man-hater.

Daniel Padilla Admits He Felt Overwhelmed During His Album Launch And Grand Fans Day

After releasing his online single “Hinahanap-Hanap Kita,” Daniel Padilla finally launched his debut album during his grand fans day on June 4 at the SM North SkyDome. The venue was filled with hardcore fans of the new teen heartthrob. Although Daniel has become used to doing mall shows all over the country, he was still flattered by the reception he got from his fans at the meet-and-greet which also served as the album’s official launch. Sobrang masarap yung feeling. Ang balita ko may dumating ng 7 am dito, nag-aabang lang sa baba tapos yung iba medyo kanina pa rin naghihintay,” he said.

Two hours before the event, the seats were already full with fans. During the event, Daniel sang four songs from his album in between games with his fans and a surprise appearance by his parents Karla Estrada and Rommel Padilla who joined him onstage during the latter part of the presentation. Members of his band Parking 5 were also present to show their support for him. Kaya masyaang masaya ako,” he said.

Daniel said that although he has been playing the guitar for his band Parking 5 for the past two years, he never thought he would become a singer. The usually shy teen said even his parents never saw him sing while growing up. “Yun yung pinagtataka ko ngayon, napapaisip pa rin ako bakit naging singer ako bigla. Dati ayoko kumanta pero nagsimula ito nung kumanta ako ng first time ng live sa Gandang Gabi Vice ata. Dun napilitan ako kumanta tapos ngayon masarap pala.

If there was one thing missing from his grand fans day, Daniel admitted it was his Princess and I leading lady Kathryn Bernardo. “Wala, may trabaho siya eh. Sayang nga, nalungkot nga ako eh,” he said. But Daniel said that Kath did make sure to wish him well on with his event. “Oo naman, nag-usap kami kahapon. Sabi niya, ‘Good luck sa launching mo, try ko humabol,’” he shared.
