Nora Aunor Comes Home on August
A new round of negotiations aimed at bringing the Superstar back home and onscreen is reportedly ongoing. It has finally been confirmed that Superstar, Nora Aunor will be arriving in Manila on August 2, 2011 via Philippine Airlines. She is coming back to the Philippines after eight long years of staying in the United States.
“Nakaempake na po ako. Naka-ready na lahat. Excited na rin po ako makabalik matapos ang walong taon. Sa wakas makakabalik na rin. Nagpapasalamat ako sa inyo sa pakikapag-usap sa mga tao para matupad ito,” she said in German Moreno’s radio program Wednesday via live phone patch interview direct from Los Angeles.
Nora Aunor was arrested for illegal drug possession at the Los Angeles International Airport in 2002. This is her first time to go back home after that incident.
Actress Suzette Ranillo, a close friend of Nora Aunor is already in talks with the acclaimed veteran actress to work in the film “El Presidente: The Emilio Aguinaldo Story.” She is going to start the movie with Governor ER Ejercito. Report said that if the plan pushes through, the US-based Nora Aunor will have to shoot her scenes for a week in Kawit, Cavite come August of this year. Laguna Governor ER Ejercito, more popularly known as Jeorge Estregan, Jr. in showbiz, sounded more certain when he discussed the subject to the media last July 10. The actor-politician, who is also set to play the title-role in the movie, said that Nora Aunor has agreed to essay the role of Maria Agoncillo, Emilio Aguinaldo’s second wife. Ranillo, apparently, has been facilitating the negotiations with Nora Aunor.
Ejercito and his team are apparently doing everything to make the project irresistible to Aunor, mainly offering an all-expenses-paid trip for the Superstar. ER said “Nasa kontrata po. Yung kanyang titirhan, board and lodging, food, everything, as for the the plane tickets and her service car.” Ejercito added “Round-trip ticket po ito. Pati service car… Lahat ng gusto niya ay ibibigay namin.” Since Aunor’s scenes will be shot in the historic Aguinaldo Shrine, Ejercito said that she will be billeted in a hotel near the location.
Nora Aunor, however, is yet to sign the film contract. But ER Ejercito said, “Pero positive lahat, eh. Lahat ng signs, okay eh. Nag-i-email na kami… Sayang, kasi maganda ang pelikula. It’s a historical film. It’s a monumental film. Epic ito, eh. Kaya dapat tanggapin niya,”
The superstar is expected to stay in the country until September this year. She further said she’s thankful to those who helped her get projects in the country especially to Suzette Ranillo and ER Ejercito. She is excited to see her children, siblings, and fans upon her return.
