GMA-7 broadcaster Arnold Clavio comments on sexual harassment complaint for the two members of Philippine Football Team (Azkals), Lexton Moy and Angel Guirado and it became a hot issue on different social networking sites.
Cristy was the match commissioner of Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). When she had a mandatory team checks on Azkals team last February 28, Moy said to her “must be a B cup”.
But based on the team manager of Azkals who is Dan Palami, maybe Cristy was having a misinterpretation on what Moy said. “They [players] were talking among themselves. There was a comment made by Denis Wolf about the flatness of Carli’s [De Murga] chest, to which Lexton Moy replied, ‘Just because you are Cup B you say that to Carli,’ or something to that effect. Denis and Carli even hugged each other. It was all a joke,” Palami said.
Cristy complaint also about Guirado wearing underwear in front of her.
On the morning show of GMA-7 Unang Hirit last Tuesday March 13, Arnold Clavio gave his opinion about this issue. “Talagang aral na sa inyo ‘yan. Ang yayabang n’yo. Akala n’yo porke’t dinadagsa kayo ng mga fan, ang gaguwapo n’yo, e. Parang God’s gift to women. E, alam ng lahat… ikinukuwento nga ni Cristina, lahat ginawa para ipaalam na may babaeng papasok sa locker, ilang katok nga sila, e. E, malapit na yung match, e. Kailangan ma-check na yung dalawang koponan. Dahil nauna yung Philippine Team bago yung Malaysia na team. Ngayon, nag-sorry para dun sa isa nilang kasamahan. Saan ka nakakita nga Azkals na may suso? Wala naman akong ma… Anong Cup B, maybe a Cup B, sa isa nilang kasama. Sana nag-sorry, sorry na lang talaga.” Arnold said.
News Anchor Arnold Clavio gave a comment also about having a difference culture of most of Azkals member. Moy was a pure Pinoy but he grown up in New York, USA and Guirado was a Filipino-Spanish who grown up in Spain and he can’t talk Tagalog and English
Arnold said, “Hindi ko kayo kakultura. Kasi wala dito [sabay turo sa kanyang puso] at wala dito [sabay turo sa kanyang ulo]. Hindi naman kayo Filipino. Nagpapanggap lang kayong kayumanggi. Hindi kayo dito lumaki, mahirap yun. Insensitive.”
But in behalf of this Arnold congratulate the Azkals team, they currently having their match on AFC Challenge Cup sa Kathmandu, Nepal. Arnold said, “Congratulations, hiwalay naman ito [ang sexual harassment complaint] sa kanilang ginagawang pakikipaglaban. So, good luck din sa inyong susunod na laban. Sana mapunta kayo sa Final 4 ha—na bihira pong narating ng Pilipinas sa matagal na panahon, ngayon lang.”
March 14, yesterday Angel Locsin posted on Twitter regarding on Arnold Clavio’s opinions about Azkals. She is the rumored girlfriend of Phil Younghusband, one of the members of Azkals.
Angel posted, “I think arnold clavio’s a good person. But this time, sobrang foul lang. That’s his opinion. This is mine. Madali lang sumira ng reputasyon, mahirap ibalik. Konting sensitivity lang sana.”
Angel answered one of the Twitter user,”hindi naman po isang tao lang ang azkals. At hindi naman po yung issue yung pagiging pinoy nila. Unfair po yun.”
