Anne Curtis, “No-Show” at USTv Student’s Choice Kick-off Party

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

No Other Woman star, Anne Curtis was denied the chance greet fans at the 8th USTv Student Choice Kick-off Party held Thursday, November 10,2011.

Anne Curtis prepared a full song number of Adele’s “Someone Like You” for Thomasians which she revealed on twitter.

Anne Tweeted: “First time to sing it live and full song dapat! Haha. Oh well, maybe next year! It was nice seeing you guys kahit saglit!”

Anne also tweeted her dismay on GMA7 who prohibited her to go up the stage.

“Thomasians, sorry I had to leave na. I tried to at least get up on stage and say hi kahit 2 minutes lang but GMA staff didn’t want.”

“Thomasians, I was there on the left side of the stage & told them kahit din a ko kumanta babati Lang ng Hi and Hello but GMA Staff said no.”

GMA responded to Anne’s tweets saying that they were just following the programme sequence.

“We were simply sticking to the programme sequence provided by the organizers “-GMA7

GMA’s side of the story:

1. Prior to the event, network representatives had been briefed by the organizers/UST about the sequence of the programme. This was to be the basis for arranging our artists’ schedules and determining their call time for the event.

2. Based on the schedule, GMA artists were supposed to perform at 7 pm. Our talents were at the venue as early as 5 pm. Last-minute insertion of ABS-CBN’s Banana Split cast in the programme however further pushed back the schedule.

3. Shortly before GMA’s number, GMA representatives confirmed the programme sequence with organizers. We were told that the Kapuso artists would be next. GMA was not aware nor informed by the organizers in any prior meeting that Anne Curtis will be part of the program.

4. When the GMA artists were about to go on stage, Anne Curtis, her handler and a student organizer approached a GMA representative to ask if she could go on stage first.

However, GMA staff declined and instructed the floor director and production staff to please proceed with the programme sequence, as the Kapuso stars also had other schedules to go to, and by this time were already waiting for nearly three hours.

5. GMA later found out that Ms. Curtis had left the venue and had tweeted about the incident.

Anne Curtis, who was allegedly said to be 3 hours late from the scheduled call time for the performers, explained on tweeter that she didn’t arrive late as what GMA has stated.

She tweeted: “Firstly, if you read my twitter timeline I didn’t arrive late at 8pm. I was asked by UST people to be there between 7-7:30 and they had told my Road Manager as soon as I get there it would be my turn.. If you want an exact time I was there at 7:10 according to driver. O diba? Join din ang driver ko sa drama. Haha. No, but seriously, they told me naman since TV5 people were performing already they opted to put me after TV5 artists & before the GMA artists.”

On the other hand, ABS-CBN released an official statement regarding the “No Show” issue of their contract actress at the Said event.

“Last November 10 at the Kick-Off Party of the USTv Students’ Choice Awards, the aborted song number of Anne Curtis became a hot topic.

We would like to clarify the issues related to the incident at the USTv awards’ launch, where Anne was invited to perform. The call time for Anne was 7PM and she arrived on time. She was scheduled to sing at 7:30 PM but due to some reason, the program was delayed.

Because Anne had been waiting for quite some time, the organizers of USTv awards decided to put her spot number after TV5′s presentation and before GMA-7 artists’ number.

Unfortunately, she was not able to perform or even greet the crowd because a staff from GMA-7 stopped her. The organizers of the event, who should be the ones making the decisions for the program, failed to control the incident.

ABS-CBN understands that such delays and compromises occur during events like the USTv Awards Kick-Off Party. During such times, people involved at the event might just have to extend extra patience and consideration.”

Vice Ganda vs. Anne Curtis

Friday, October 21st, 2011

Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda has been rising in fame with their successful shows and movies. The two are referred to as “unkabogable” or unbeatable in the industry. Anne’s recent movie, “No other Woman”, has been a box-office hit grossing over P258 million.

Vice Ganda has earned his title as “unkagogable”, for his successful TV shows “Showtime” and “Gandang Gabi Vice”. His sold out concerts at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum and his box-office hit movie “Petrang Kabayo” all contributed to his fame.

Vice has an up and coming show “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” which will open nationwide on Oct. 26, 2011.

The two co-hosts has been pitted against each other on who will be the reigning “unkabogable” queen.

Vice in a recent interview said, “Huwag naman ganung pressure. Feeling ko rin magiging hit ang pelikulang ito pero ayaw ko ring i-pressure ang sarili ko na dapat matalo ko ang movie ni Anne.”

Vice however is more confident that his new movie is better than his debut movie “Petrang Kabayo”. What he is sure of is that he makes sure that his present projects are better than the last.

“I just live by the day,” he confessed. “What I have at the moment I make sure na papagandahin ko yung pagkakataon na yun. Unconceivable lahat po ito kasi ibinigay lang. Sa next project ko, pagsasama-samahin namin ang efforts and talents and lahat siguro ng mga ginawa namin sa ‘Petrang Kabayo’ and ‘Praybeyt Benjamin,’ gagawin namin sa next movie ko.”

Whether or not Vice beats Anne “Bisyosa” Curtis for the “unkabogable box-office queen,” he is already declared himself a winner when he said, “I’m very proud of this movie!”

Dimples graciously gave her seat to the “Showtime” Burado judge Ryan Bang as she was moved with the emotional farewell of Ryan in the show.

“I saw how much you love Ryan and since I still have my seat I think I have the power to give Ryan back my seat. Ryan will have my seat. Ryan is a good man he deserves so much more and I hope po na maging masaya kayong lahat sa pagbabalik ni Ryan,” she explained.

As she gave her ‘Hurado’ seat to Ryan, Dimples thanked the whole “Showtime” family on her last Hurado day.

“Gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa lahat sa inyo. Alam niyo po, ang hindi ma-vote out ang isang Hurado ng 5 linggo palampas pa ay sobra-sobra na pong regalo. Sobra-sobrang kabutihan na po ng buong ‘Showtime’ sa akin. Hindi ko na po magawang humiling ng sobra-sobra,” she said.

The emotional Ryan Bang acknowledged and thanked Dimples for the sacrifice she made in order for him to be back in the morning show. “Ate Dimples, maraming salamat po. Thank you so much. Maraming-maraming salamat,” he said.

The ‘longest-running’ “Showtime” judge Ryan Bang was evicted last Saturday. The show turned emotional as Ryan Ryan bade farewell to all of his friends in the show. The “Showtime” hosts, particularly Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda, became tear-eyed.

Cristine Reyes states no plans of becoming an ‘Other Woman’, confronts rumors about moving to TV5

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

The actress Cristine Reyes said she has no plans of becoming an ‘other woman’ just to be with the man she loves. In an interview with PEP.ph during the presscon of ‘No Other Woman’ at the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN compound yesterday, Cristine said,

“Sa tingin ko, ayokong gawin yun na maghahabol ako sa lalaki, ayokong ipilit yung sarili ko sa taong ayaw na sa akin. Kasi parang tatapakan ko lang yung sarili ko. Marami namang iba diyan na puwede akong mahalin.”

As to what she will do if ever the situation comes out in real life, the actress uttered the following statement.

“Pag nalaman ko yung guy na may iba siya, siguro papapiliin ko siya kung sino sa aming dalawa. Kung pipiliin niya yung isa, okay lang. It means hindi siya para sa akin. Kung ako yung pipiliin niya, kailangan na niyang hiwalayan yung isa.”

Cristine Reyes along with Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsay starred the sexy film ‘No Other Woman’ produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films and directed by Ruel Bayani. The film is showing on September 28 in cinemas nationwide.

The film focuses on the challenges and problems brought about by marital infidelity. The story revolves on three main characters, the couple, Charmain dela Costa-Escaler (Cristine) and Ram Escaler (Derek), and the other woman, Kara Zalderiaga (Anne).

With regards to the rumors spreading that she has plans of transferring to another network channel, TV5, Cristine exclaimed, “Hindi, a! Naririnig ko, pero hindi ko alam kung merong ganung negotiation. Nakarating kasi siya sa akin hindi through Viva kundi through tweets.”

Cristine also clarified this issue.

“Siguro magkakaroon muna ng discussion. Pero so far naman, I’m happy sa ABS-CBN. Kung meron man pong ganung offer (from TV5), hindi ko po alam. If ever, mabait naman po ang Viva, e, kung saan mas masaya yung alaga nila, doon sila. Siyempre mahirap namang magtrabaho kung alam mong ayaw mong magtrabaho kung saan ka lilipat,” she said.
