MANILA, Philippines – Charice Pempengco has finally arrived in the country, along with the successful release of her eponymous album’s first single, the top billboard hit, ”Pyramid,” featuring Iyaz, who is also a rising international artist today.
Charice toured in different parts of the globe with David Foster and sang with Celine Dion. They were indeed taken in and captivated by the novelty of this young girl from the Philippines who has this big, solid voice of a diva.
She also had millions of hits on YouTube and as for her first single, also one of the most downloaded hits, “Note To God,” that was composed by the legendary Diane Warren.
Recently, her current greatest hit, “Pyramid” featuring Iyaz. Sold only on digital downloads, the song overtook Rihanna’s Rude Boy and made No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play chart, as it gradually made its way to the top since last week. Surely, Charice has now placed herself on the peak of her Pyramid through all her hard works and success.

Charice made her big splash into global limelight after appearing on that said show in 2007.

As I remember the first time that I saw Charice in an amateur contest in our Barangay, she was really small that time but she really had a powerful voice. Although she is quite disappointed that she was first tapped to sing other country’s national anthem than the her own in one prestigious event, Charice would want to experience singing “Lupang Hinirang” in another world-celebrated event like Pacquiao’s boxing match in Las Vegas, Navada in the USA.

The mother of international singing sensation Charice has criticized the National Historical Institute (NHI) for dragging the name of her daughter into the issue of proper rendition of “Lupang Hinirang.”
“Kasi kung tutuusin, hindi naman sa sinisilip ko, pero mas madami ang kumanta ng mas palpak. Hindi naman palpak si Charice. Ang ginawa niya lang ay tinaasan niya lang at saka bumagal ng konti pero wala siyang palpak doon sa kinanta niya unlike doon sa kumanta na pumiyok pa,” Racquel Pempengco said.
We can’t blame why Charice’s mother defend her daugther. It is just like any mother who want to protect and clear their child’s name from any accusations.

Last Sunday, May 3, Charice led the 30th anniversary of CDC Manufacturing Corporation, the company behind Melawares dinnerware. The young singer was tapped to sing the company’s theme song titled “Melawares…Gandang Pangmatagalan, Kalidad na Maaasahan.”
