“Very, very blessed,” a statement which is perfectly fits Bianca King who since last year had been busy with her work.
The Kapuso actress mentioned and enumerates her continuous projects last May 19, at the event launch of Gatorade Low Carb at the amphitheater of Bonifacio High Street Central
Bianca said, “Since Captain Barbell (March 2011), my work had been non-stop, and soap operas pa.
“‘Tapos from Captain Barbell, I was pulled out to be the lead in Sinner or Saint (June 2011).
“And then a month after Sinner or Saint, which ended in October, I started taping for Legacy for its pilot week.
“And then, ah, I was taping for that…nag-overlap ang taping. I was taping for that in January, and January rin we started Broken Vow.
“Broken Vow is until mid-June, and then July ang Luna Blanca.”
The lady’s next soap is her biggest break to date.
With too much excitement, she tells the media that, “I’m Luna. I play the character of Luna in Luna Blanca.
“It’s my first lead on primetime. And it’s my first title role also.
“First time na nangyari sa akin na yung pangalan ng character ko, yun yung pangalan ng show…”
When asked to describe her character, she answered “headstrong” because “hindi naging hadlang yung dark skin niya…”
The TV series started airing last night, May 21, 2012, will showcase three generations of actresses namely Jillian Ward and Mona Louise Rey who will play the young characters; Bea Binene and Barbie Forteza will do the tween phase; and Heart Evangelista and Bianca King will portray the grown-up versions.
Bianca added, “For our generation, there’s no script yet, but the character of Luna is very bubbly, free-spirited, ah, child-like, and confident, even if hindi siya yung favorite ng mother nila.
“Siya yung tagapagtanggol ng weakling na sister, si Blanca.
“Blanca is the white one, the one na mas mahal niya yung parents, pero si Luna yung gumagawa parati ng paraan para matulungan yung family…”
THE SMALL PRICE OF HER ROLE. Yes, she’s going to have her skin blackened for the project.
The preparations might be harmful for her skin, but she has no doubts about playing a dark-skinned lady in the series.
“Starting na nga,” she cuts in, referring to the tiny freckles—a common problem among mestizas.
But vanity is the farthest thing from her mind.
“Ano naman yun, it’s a small price to pay for a role that’s so big.
“It really doesn’t matter when you have…because there’s bigger responsibility on your shoulder. It’s a small thing. They don’t really matter. What matters is that I deliver.”
DREAM ROLE. After playing roles that are “out-of-type cast,” Bianca says, “I’m game very game” to doing anything.
The 27-year-old star elaborates, “Actually, if you analyze the type of bida roles that I got here in Broken Vow and Sinner or Saint, hindi siya yung tipong bida role na madaling tanggapin kasi very deglamorized siya.
“And sa Sinner or Saint, I played a no read-no write babaeng hampaslupa na lumaki sa slums so I didn’t have my make-up on it, didn’t even brush my hair ‘tapos yung pananalita’t kilos ko, medyo may pagka-kanto girl.
“And plus I also had a child there. I got pregnant out of wedlock, so you know it’s not very wholesome…
“But for me, I’ve always considered myself edgy.
After playing Noemi Manansala, she’s now Melissa Santiago on GMA-7’s dramarama sa hapon.
Bianca resumes, “And then Broken Vow naman, a rape victim who becomes a battered wife so… and then I have a seven-year-old child here, and I play somebody much, much older than me. I play 49-year-old woman.
“So yun, it’s not ano, e… These are roles that you really have to be committed to, that you really have to be serious in your craft.”
Does she have any dream role?
Her reply: “I really want to do a female heroine that’s not a superhero. So something like Alias, something like Nikita, something like Charlie’s Angels, like that… So parang a female spy or a female secret agent.”
She’s also open to doing a romantic comedy.
Her mood changed when her rumored boyfriend was mentioned, Dennis Trillo.
What’s exactly their status?
She smiles and giggles for about a minute, and say, “We’re good…
