ABS-CBN has bought the rights of the popular telenovela which was originally starred by the Mexican superstar Thalia of the MariMar. The local version of Maria La del Barrio will be portrayed by Erich Gonzales. And EnRich will not be complete if there’s no Enchong. Playing the part of the sexy hunk Luis Fernando in the telenovela is Enchong Dee.
The synopsis of the upcoming soap on ABS-CBN is María Hernandez (Erich Gonzales) is a naíve girl who dreams of a Prince Charming in her life. When she meets Luis Fernando Dela Vega (Enchong Dee), she thought she already met her Prince Charming. But when she sees him with another girl, Soraya Montenegro (Paw Diaz), she gets hurt and seeks revenge as she transforms into a rich, gorgeous woman and becomes the girlfriend of Luis Fernando’s younger brother, Vladimir Dela Vega (Inno Martin).
In the teaser of their show, it is very obvious that Enchong and Erich have multiple kissing scenes. In an interview of PEP with Enchong Dee, He said that he was also surprised by his multiple kissing scenes with Erich. He said, “Oo, nga. Di ko nga alam. Sabi ko nga, ‘Totoo ba yun?’” according to him this telenovela change both him and Erich’ role into a matured one. “Oo, nga, e. Biglaan [ang pagbinata], Di ko nga alam, ang dami na palang kissing scenes na nangyayari.” And when he was asked how many times they kissed, he said, “Actually, di ko nabilang. Kasi, kumbaga… kasi per script matagal yung time frame. So, di ko alam. Parang kissing scene. Kissing scene. Yun pala no’n binuo na, ang dami na pala. May [halikan sa] sampayan. May [halikan sa] kitchen. Gano’n.”
And according to Enchong, there’s no one would be jealous with them because the show is just only their work.
But according to pinoyhotnews.com it’s not for kids to watch ‘Maria La del Barrio’ with Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee because of kissing scenes. Not only that, there are also hot scenes that obviously not suitable for them. Anyway, what’s new with Mexican inspired TV series? That’s the way it is. Besides, it’s a Philippine remake by ABS-CBN from 90’s Mexican TV novel ‘Maria La del Barrio.’ We considered Erich and Enchong are both now a grown-up artist and hoping more mature roles in the future.
Maria La del Barrio will start on August 15, 2011 at ABS-CBN primetime show.
