Atty. Felipe Gozon on alleged sale of GMA-7: “Kung may mag-o-offer ng P500 billion, kahit tulog ako, gisingin n’yo ako, I will sell”

As you know all this starts with Ruffa Guiterrez tweet last December 25, as she posted:

“Guess what MVP is buying next?? Found out last week through a little birdy but the few people I told didn’t believe me. Now its CONFIRMEDDD.”

And rumors are told that Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) had offered to buy GMA-7 for “P500 billion.”

MVP bought TV5 in 2010, and his reported interest in GMA-7 has been seen as another effort to strengthen his television reach.

“There is no truth to the rumor going around in social media sites and the internet that Mr. Manny Pangilinan has bought GMA Network. In fact, there is even no negotiation going on between GMA and Mr. Pangilinan regarding the latter’s acquisition of GMA-7.” As per GMA-7 announce last December 27.

Also according to InterAksyon.com, the online news portal of TV5-  Atty. Ray Espinosa the TV5′s President and CEO, denies that rumor.

And yesterday Atty. Gozon in a media press, discussing their launching of programs scheduled this first quarter of 2012 addressed the issue of the supposed sale of GMA-7.

He said, “Kung P500 billion, ibebenta ko right now”.

“Kung may mag-o-offer ng P500 billion, kahit tulog ako, gisingin n’yo ako, I will sell”.

“Pag below that, medyo iisipin ko muna”.

He later added, “Out of this world naman yun… That is a very wild rumor.”

Still according to PEP sources, there is an offer made, but agree that “P500 billion” is a stratospheric number. Yes it is in billions of pesos but way below that figure.

Added to that the three families owning the majority stock of the Kapuso network – the Duavits, Jimenezes, and Gozons—are not united in the decision to accept MVP’s offer.

For now, MVP himself has been quiet with regards to this matter.

Patrick Garcia talks about Luis Manzano

Patrick Garcia is back in showbiz and acting with his latest primetime series at GMA-7, Iglot. After one year rest.

“Na-miss kong umarte because one year din akong hindi nagtrabaho, so iyon. Very excited at the same time, you know, kabado siyempre. Medyo baka kulang na ako sa praktis or whatever,” He said

As Patrick rest in showbiz, he spends most of his time with his son Alex Jazz from Jennylyn Mercado.

Patrick said, “Masaya to have a baby, to have a kid, I’m very happy. Nag-aaral siya ngayon, pre-toddler school, iyon and I’m very excited because everyday may nadi-discover siyang bago… and natutuwa ka because you see him growing up. Well nung una ano e, nung una, palipat-lipat si Jazz; kasi three days sa akin, four days, ganun. Pero we both decided na dapat isang bahay lang ang makilala niyang bahay niya para hindi siya ma-stress, hindi siya maguluhan so we both decided na bahay ni Jen. Ako na nagbibisita almost every day, basta wala akong ginagawa, bumibisita ako.”

Alex Jazz, Patrick’s son with Jennylyn Mercado has an upcoming birthday this August 16, 2011.

“Well, Jen and I have to plan for that siyempre. Last year ang motif namin is cars, e. Now we don’t know. He still likes cars. Whether simple or bongga, basta ang importante, kumpleto kami. My family is there, Jen’s family is there, iyon lang ang importante. Everybody who loves him and important to him is there. No matter if it’s a big celebration or a small celebration.”He said

The relationship of Patrick with Jennylyn Mercado is doing fine as a father of their child, AJ. And when Patrick was asked about Luis Manzano who was heard of dating his ex-girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado, He said, “Well, I know Luis, and I’ve worked with him before and he’s a very nice guy and a gentleman. Wala akong masasabi and sana, mapasaya niya si Jen if ever, you know, if ever magkatuluyan sila. Tsaka sana mahalin ni Luis si Jazz. Yun lang.”

According to Manny, this is his long dream show where he can give help to his fellow people.

He said: “Masaya ako na makakapagbigay tulong tayo sa marami nating kababayan.

In Manny Pacquiao’s interview, you can see his excitement when he is discussing his show.

This is the successor of his former show with Marian Rivera, Show Me Da Manny.

He said: “Matagal ko nang pangarap na ganitong show. Nakakatulong tayo sa kapwa. Masaya dahil nangyari na nga itong show na pangarap ko at pangarap din ng mga tao na matulungan sila,”

They said, the show really fits Manny because even off-cam, he give games and big prizes to his staffs. In fact, before the press conference, Manny shares some cash prizes to his motorcade team. That’s why they called Manny as their “Ninong ng Bayan”.

Manny did not reject that few of his co-stars like Paolo Contis, Onyok Velasco, at Gladys Guevarra is his handpicked.

Beside Onyok, Paolo, and Gladys. Rhian Ramos and Izabelle Daza were also included in the show Manny Many Prizes.

According to Manny there are no problem regarding with his show in case he has a fight or if he needs training.

“Wala namang problema yun dahil kailangan nating i-maximize ang time natin, Kailangan lang ng time management sa show na ‘to. Kailangan na ako talaga ang nandito palagi sa show na ito dahil ako mismo ang mamimigay ng cash prizes and also house and lot.” He said.

This November, Manny is expected to fight with Manuel Marquez for the third time. And September is the start of his training.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. expressed his feelings that he is ready for his next fight. But according to Manny: “Pagdating siguro ng panahon, hindi ngayon. May laban din siya. May laban din ako. Baka next year, matuloy.”

Manny is always supported by his loving wife, Jinkie Pacquiao especially to his upcoming Show. He said: “Suportado naman niya ako dahil ito’y tulong para sa ating mga kababayan at maganda naman itong ginagawa natin.”

Manny’s four children are still young but as early as now, Manny instill his children to be helpful to their fellowmen. Manny also believe to living by example. “Siyempre kung sa paglaki ng mga anak ko, barumbado, hindi naman ang mga anak ko ang may kasalanan no’n kung hindi kaming mga magulang. Ang mga magulang ang may kasalanan kung nagiging barumbado dahil hindi tama ang pagpapalaki,”

And according to Manny, he doesn’t see any potential among his children in following his footsteps and become a boxer.

He also didn’t allow his wife Jinkie to be in showbiz because according to him, if Jinkie will be entering showbiz, their children and their business will be forsaken. And there is no reason to be with showbiz because they already have their own business.

Wendell Ramos switched from being Kapuso to being Kapatid.

Wendell Ramos

For almost 15 years, Wendell Ramos spent his career in Kapuso Network. He was handled by late Douglas Quijano. For fifteen years the actor didn’t have any contract because according to him his manager then didn’t believe in contracts.

Recently the actor was reported to be one of the new talents of PPL Entertainment Inc. managed by Perry Lansigan. And as a new manager, he tried to open him up for other networks. Fortunately TV5 got interested to him. The negotiation between Perry and TV5 just took two weeks to be settled. According to the actor it was easy because he doesn’t have contract with GMA.

The actor and GMA7 executive Marivin Arayata talked about it and even tried to hold him back and as much as possible they don’t want him to leave, but he said he already made up his mind. In the end GMA7 executive agreed and wished him luck. He thanked the management for the past 15 years of being a Kapuso.  He is sad that he has to sacrifice his shows in GMA, especially Bubble Gang to be able to cross stations.

Last Sunday, March 13, on Paparazzi, Wendell was officially introduced as the newest Kapatid on TV5. Wendell admitted that one of the reasons why he switched is the security of his career. He thinks that in TV5 his career is secured because of the contract. He is obliged to work for the network at the same time the network is obliged to give him work which is what he wants.

In his first two years in TV5 he is expected to do two TV soaps, one sitcom and a musical show. He is not sure if he’s also going to do a movie for the sister company of the network.

Big Break for Luis Alandy

The long wait is over, Luis  Alandy  finally got his first  ever leading man role in GMA 7’s afternoon drama “My Lover, My Wife”.
Even though Luis Alandy started in GMA 7, his first ever soap was in ABS-CBN’s teleserye  ”Pangako Sa’yo”. He played David a friend but also a man who will sacrifice everything for the sake of his one and only love – Yna (played by Kristine Hermosa). After Pangako Sa’yo, Alandy continue to receive supporting roles and never given the chance to have a lead role even if he switched to the rival station of Kapamilya network where he had started, GMA 7.
My Lover, My Wife” is a big challenge for Luis Alandy because he’s playing two roles in this soap. He will play as Clarence the bad boy and Arthur also played by Marco Alcaraz, a kind and loving husband. This also means that he has two leading ladies Nadine Samonte  and  Maxene Magalona.
The actor said that he is happy and he knows that leading man role is not for him, he is used to in playing the “bad guy” role in his previous projects. But because of his performance in The Beauty Queen where he played Dante, the role was given to him.
Not only is he thankful to Kapuso Network he is also very thankful to everyone that he had worked with in the soap Beauty Queen especially to their director Joel Lamangan who eventually lead him to the project My Lover, My Wife.

“My Lover, My” Wife will be aired February 28, 2011.

Barbie as Nita Negrita

During  Nita Negrita’s Press-con, an afternoon tv show on GMA 7, Barbie Forteza surprised the media when she showed up in-character with a dark shade skin color. They have to give emphasis to her skin color to look like  she’s an African-American descent. The young star said that it take one and a half hour to put on her make up and she takes a bath 2 times to fully remove the traces.

She said at first that she became a little shy when everyone stares at her and get amused by her appearance. at the same time it’s a new feeling being different from other individuals. So far it is her second leading role after “Pilyang Kirubin”, and her most dramatic and biggest break.

Barbie’s first afternoon show where she will play as Antonette or Nita Negrita who was raised in an orphanage after being separated from her mother at an early age. Having been born to a Filipina mother and an Afro-American father, the kind-hearted Nita is often taunted because of her complexion. The series will see Nita Negrita facing her struggles and overcoming obstacles that surround her.

Barbie said that she could say that it is challenging role and she wants to do role like this even before.

She is paired with Joshua Domingo who plays Prince in the series. Lexi Fernandez is her nemesis.

Barbie also admits that she is nervous and pressured about audience’s high expectations of her. Barbie knows fellow Tween star Louise delos Reyes got the the viewers’ nod in her first starrer, Alakdana, which has started airing two weeks ago, also in the afternoon block.

Meanwhile, Barbie dispels rumors that she and Joshua are already having attitude problems.  Like Barbie, Joshua belies accusations against them. Also with the rumor that involves her mom and joshua on the issue of kristoff’s removal on Tween Hearts
With or without intrigues, Barbie says she’s ready to face them from the time she entered show business. “Siguro hangga’t hindi ako nawawala sa showbiz puro intriga nalang. But as long as there are people who support and believe in me, I’ll be okay. And I’m still young to take them (intrigues) seriously.”

Mo Twister on TV5′s management: “They’re ten times better than the people I was with.”

Former Showbiz Central host Mo Twister is about to deal with his first court case because his former network, GMA-7, has lodged a complaint regarding his alleged breach of contract. It will be recalled that GMA-7 has filed a P4 million breach of contract case against DJ Mo and TV5. The legal matter could disrupt his life as well as hinder his appearances on TV5 because of the TRO (temporary restraining order) that aims to prevent Mo from appearing on the TV5 shows Juicy and Paparazzi.

NO REGRETS. In light of all these, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked DJ Mo if he has regrets about transferring to TV5.

Mo Twister then declared: “Do I have any regrets? No. Why would I? The people that I’m surrounded by, they’re ten times better than the people I was with.

“The people I’m working with, from the co-hosts to the staff to the upper management, all the way to the very top, nakikilala mo sila. Puwede kang magtanong and they will give a very honest answer and it goes for everyone.”

He later clarified that he was actually referring to the top executives of GMA-7 and not his former co-hosts on Showbiz Central. “I mean the upper management. I love Pia Guanio, I love Raymond Gutierrez, I love John Lapus…Rufa Mae [Quinto]—on and off.”

DJ Mo was one of the hosts presented during TV5′s press conference for Paparazzi held earlier today, June 1, at Alfredo’s restaurant on Tomas Morato, Quezon City. Aside from Mo, Cristy Fermin, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Dolly Anne Carvajal as well as director GB Sampedro answered questions from the press regarding their showbiz-oriented talk show that airs every Sunday on TV5.

THE CONTRACT. The controversial TV and radio personality says that he has not yet received a copy of the formal complaint.

“The last time I met with anyone was my last episode on Showbiz Central, which was the week prior to when my contract expired. I wrote them a letter saying that since they have no plans for me in [GMA-7], I’m gonna explore other options.”

DJ Mo then said that he wanted to join TV5′s showbiz oriented talk show, Paparazzi, which is why he asked GMA-7 to release him from his contract.

“I wanted to leave early ‘coz my contract was ending on May 3 and Paparazzi was starting on April 12. So I wrote them a letter and I asked them if they could release me two or three weeks earlier ‘coz I plan to start this show. And then they said, ‘No.’ So that’s when I talked to Wilma [Galvante, GMA-7 SVP for Entertainment TV] and told her, it’s just two weeks. Then sabi niya, ‘I’ll help you. I’ll do whatever I can. If you don’t want to be here, you’ll be out.’”

But according to DJ Mo, the management of GMA-7 did not agree to release him earlier so he waited for his contract to officially end. According to TV5 Head of Entertainment and Creative Services Perci Intalan, this is the reason why Mo started appearing on Paparazzi only on May 9, 2010.

“I waited for my contract to end, which was on May 3,” recalled Mo, “and according to my lawyers, I could leave. According to the TV5 lawyers, I could leave. That’s two legal opinions that are not related and they all agreed that I was done and that I could go.”

He added, “I think they’re suing me for the clause about the renewal.”

Does he feel bad that his former network has sued him over this matter?

“Not really ‘coz I just want to work. I just want to do my job without so many problems. But I have to be really realistic also that this is really a part of the business and there will be companies that don’t agree with the way you think. We’ll just see what happens,” says Mo.

TV5 WILL FIGHT FOR MO. In a separate interview, PEP asked TV5 executive Perci Intalan regarding the TRO and and he said that they have not yet received the formal letter so he could not comment on it. GMA-7′s legal department, on the other hand, said that they sent a letter to TV5 reminding them about Mo’s contract. Intalan confirmed this by saying, “In March they did send a letter but the lawyers said that it is a reminder saying that Mo had a live contract, which we honored. Kaya nga we waited until that live contract ended on May 3.”

What about GMA-7′s claim that they have the right to renew Mo’s services for another year?

“Ang pagkakaalam kasi namin they’re talking about their option to renew, which I guess is the subject of the case. Yun yung dini-discuss ng legal namin kasi the live contract is only until May 3, 2010,” said Intalan.

Did Mo tell them about this particular clause regarding the option to renew?

“Both parties were aware what the live contract was and the bottom line is that when we were negotiating with Mo, it was in good faith and in the belief that we can engage his services,” the TV5 executive said.

Are they afraid of the lawsuit filed by GMA-7?

“Actually, hindi kasi it’s an important issue to debate on: the whole practice of sole option to renew. The bottom line is that Mo wants to be with us. It’s not Mo not wanting to be us na dinedemanda. Dun kami magwo-worry ‘coz it’s somebody who’s with us na ayaw na sa amin, at pinipigilan namin umalis at dinemanda namin na bumalik sa amin, issue yun.

“Pero ito, pinaglalaban namin ang isang tao na gusto sa amin. In every way, panalo kami dun kasi the person wants to be with us. Kumbaga, kahit ano pang issue, gusto niya sa amin. Kaya hindi rin kami as worried, although it’s another thing to deal with, but it’s something that we want to fight for,” explained Intalan.
