Patrick Garcia to be a “Daddy” again

Patrick Garcia, a former child star will be a father for the second time. He admitted that his non-showbiz girlfriend is pregnant.

“We are happily expecting a baby girl. It’s not a secret. I just don’t want to talk about it because I want my private life private,” he told reporters at the press conference of ABS-CBN’s new teleserye “Apoy sa Dagat” on Tuesday, January 22.

Financial Support for Jazz. Meanwhile, Patrick, who has a son with Jennylyn Mercado, admits rift on his relationship with his ex-girlfriend.

“I’ve always explained to Jen naman. Kasi few months ago work was scarce, wala masyado, so ‘yung suporta ko kay Jazz (their son) naho-hold back pero I explained to Jen na pagdating ng salary ko, I will always give to Jazz.”

Patrick hopes he and Jennylyn will resolve the issue because he wants to spend more time with their son.

“I still love my son very much, I love him very much. I love Jazz. I miss him and I want to spend many days with him because I don’t want him to grow up not knowing me.”

Edu Manzano “strongly against” Son Luis’s Plan To Enter Politics

For the first time, Edu Manzano and Joey De Leon will have their project together in the upcoming show of TV5 this coming June in which will be airing every Sunday, entitled Game ‘N’ Go.

In one press conference that was held yesterday, May 24, in Delta Theater, Edu announces his insights with regards to their project of the comedian.

He said, “Pinag-uusapan nga namin ni Joey lahat nagawa na namin, e. Yun nga lang, except being together…

“But for me, golden opportunity dahil few times lately na magkakasama kami at nag-uusap kami, you know, nakita ko rin yung lalim ni Joey, e.

“Everybody looks at him as a funny man, komedyante, minsan critical, outspoken. Pero makikita mo rin yung kanyang ibang aspeto ng buhay niya.

“I mean, ako, I have a lot of admiration kay Joey.”

Would the partnership do well on the both of you? Would you not be pissed off with each other’s jokes and punch lines especially you and Joey are not really close friends?

“Honestly? Inisip ko yun,” Edu admitted.

“Kasi iba minsan yung biruan ng mga magkakaibigan. Mapagpapasensyahan mo, or may balik ka kaagad dahil close kayo, e.

“But you know, Joey never means to be hurtful, e. Yung sa kanya, gusto niyang makapag-isip lang ng laughter, e.”

“Dahil madalas nilang napag-uusapan lately ang show, dun nakikita ni Edu na “maganda yung fit.”

He added, “You know, masasabi mong cool, e, like kanina, sinasabi niya, ‘O, nagbabatuhan na kami, ha?

“Ako, I don’t mind yung ako yung taga-deliver at siya yung taga-punch line e.  Okey lang sa akin.”

One thing he assured is that the punch lines of him and Joey would not be scripted.

“Wala… Kahit siya wala, e,” he uttered.

“Huwag mo siyang bibigyan ng script kasi kung may script, lilihis yun for sure.  Depende sa kung ano ang mararamdaman mo at that moment at kung ano ang isasagot ng isang tao, doon mo ididirekta ang bato mo.

“So, ako, hindi ako umaasa na susunod sa script si Joey De Leon.”

Do you guys have a bonding before the show starts?

“No, I think it’s mutual respect, e.

“Ako, kahit sa ibang programa, pinapanood ko siya. Nakikita ko yung relationship nilang tatlo,” ang ang tinutukoy niya ay ang TVJ (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey).

As he continues, “Yung naririnig mo… kasi, I read his column every Sunday, e, sa Philippine Star. Well-travelled siya. At laging may gusto siyang mga bagong mga experiences at ganundin ako.

‘I think, we have so much to learn from each other.”

NO MORE POLITICS. The conversation shifted to the fact that the filing of candidacy of those who want to run for politics is approaching very near.

Edu said that he has no interest to be involved in politics again.

He said: “No, actually, I gave it my best and that was very sincere. Sabi nga ng iba kong nakakausap, there were very many ways to be able serve as artista or public servant. Isa nga dun yung tinayo naming cancer wards sa Philippine Children’s Medical center na naisulat na ng ibang members ng press.

“To this day, we continue to support yung project na yun for children below the age of 18 na may cancer. Dun ang chemotheraphy, [blood] transfusion… Dinesensyo namin yung buong ward sa may kanto ng Quezon Boulevard.”

Even having the position or privilege to lead any of the government agencies or office like optical Media Board (OMB), in which he is formerly committed, he has no interest at all.

“Honestly, nung tinanggap ko yung OMB in 2004, tinigil ko na yung pag-a-artista, e. I stopped doing movies. Wala na ako ni isang pelikulang ginawa.

“Ilang years din ang ibinigay ko, sakripisyo.

“Six years na hindi ako tumanggap ng pelikula and then 2007, hindi na ako tumanggap ng teleserye.

“So you know, kung financial sacrifices marami na akong nagawa, e,” he said.

BEING A KAPATID. Edu was from GMA-7 before he transferred to TV5 again.

A lot of people say that it was very unproductive of Edu transferring to the Kapuso Network coming from ABS-CBN because there are shows that were promised to him but haven’t given to him.

“Hindi naman sa ipinangako,” Edu clears the matter. “It’s just that, sometimes kahit gusto mong i-expand yung mga tema or yung mga konsepto o mga programa, ratings war talaga, e.

“You know, ayaw mo talagang sumugal sa mga bagong konsepto kasi nalalaglag kaagad.

“Kahit sabihin natin na isang istasyon ang lumalamang, next week yung kabilang istasyon naman. Ayaw mo talagang lumaki yung difference in ratings dahil aminin na natin, it’s a business, negosyo. Lahat, e..

“In the case of competing studios, may mga stockholders na ‘yan, e. They have responsibilities sa kanilang mga stockholders. So, kahit minsan gusto nilang pagbigyan yung ibang konsepto, pag nalaglag ‘yan at naapektuhan ang advertising revenue. mananagot sila ngayon sa kanilang mga share holders.”

Edu was somehow contented with the offer that TV5 gives.

“Kaya nga nakagiti ako, e,” ang kanyang nasambit.

“Actually, as you know, sila nag-i-eksperimento talaga. Even yung konsepto nila, yung programming, iniiba nila to give people an alternative form of programming.

“Isa yun sa mga bagay na nagustuhan ko and sometimes it takes a while kasi nasanay na ang mga tao sa isang time slot na ‘eto lang ang ipinalabas. Sa ibang time slot, ‘eto naman ang ipinapalabas.

“Ngayong gusto nilang i-mix and hopefully, magustuhan ng mga tao.”

Edu signed a contract with TV5 but he don’t believe in exclusivity.

“Actually, its not it’s exclusive. It’s just that I respect that they’re investing good money in me and I should give them the same respect.”

LUIS’S POLITICAL PLANS. With regards to the controversy spreading that Luis has a plan of entering the politics, Edu said directly and without hesitation that he is not in favor of this plan of his son.

“I told him no,” he said firmly. “I’m strongly against it because he’s doing good money.

“You know, he’s working very hard. And he could render public service in many other ways. There is always a sacrifice.”

Edu believes that it is hard to enter showbiz and politics at the same time.

Madi-divide yung atensiyon.

“The people do not deserve it, lalo na ngayon, we’re such a divided nation.”

When he accepted the position in Optical Media Board (OMB), “sakripisyo talaga nong 2004,” he said.

Kahit  talagang offer. I don’t accept films anymore because I want to give it my 100 per cent. And I don’t believe in yung sinasabing quality time. Hindi quality time talaga yun!”

What’s the reaction of Luis when you said that you were not in favor of him entering the politics? Would he consider your advice?

The host-actor answered: “Well, ano kasi e, maraming nag-u-udyok sa kanya.

“But of course, minsan nakakataba ng puso. But you know, you should allow your better judgement.”

Have you not been talking with Vilma Santos regarding your son’s plan to enter the politics?

“No, Vilma is entitled to her own opinion as I am entitled to mine.

“But I feel what is more important, Luis is 32 years old. He has to understand his ramification sa kanyang desisyon. Like halimbawa, hindi ka naging matagumpay sa pulitika, makakaapekto rin sa career mo, e.

“You have to understand na ang taong bumoboto sa iyo, buhay ang ibinibigay nila sa iyo. So, they deserve your unlimited time and attention.”

THE GIRL FOR LUIS. Which do you prefer for your son? Luis wouldn’t enter politics or that Luis will marry her present girlfriend, Jennlyn Mercado?

“A, siyempre, gusto ko makahanap siya ng babaeng magmamahal sa kanya.”  He answered quickly.

Does Jennylyn met your standards? Does Luis found the girl for her?

“Actually, nakilala ko si Jennylyn before na nakilala niya si Luis. Even sa case ni Angel…

“You know, you show me a child who shows a lot of love for their parents, I will always have a soft heart for that child.

“So, nakita ko si Angel and her father. Nakita ko si Jennylyn and her mother. Pero yun yung mga qualities na nakakalimutan natin sa ating naging propesyon o sa ating industriya.

“But ang dami nilang common likes ni Jennylyn, e.”

Edu is happy with the fact that Jennylyn and Luis has time for each other.

“You know, nagugustuhan ko yung fact na they’re spend a lot of time together, not only working together.  Iba yung nagtatrabaho kayo at iba yung meron kayong buhay sa labas.”

Have you and Jennylyn talked to each other?

“Nagugulat ako minsan kasi kapag nagpupunta ako sa ibang lugar at natataon nandun siya at nalalaman niya, agad na nilalapitan ako.  Kaya minsan, nagugulat ako kay Jen, e.

“So, I like yung attitude niya, yung quality na ‘yan.

“But at the end of the day, kung saan happy ang anak ko, doon ako.”

In what you see with Luis and Jennylyn’s relationship, you think he finally found the girl she would marry someday?

“Well, matagal ko na siyang hindi nakikitang masungit, e. Magandang senyales ‘yan, e. I hope so,” Edu said.

Luis Manzano Denies Visiting A Church In Batangas To Book His Wedding With Jennylyn Mercado: “Kagulat-gulat talaga!”

A media reporter accidentally bumped into the actor, Luis Manzano in the hallway of ABS-CBN studios last March 22, 2012.

Luis was in the building to visit the hosts of The Buzz which includes Toni Gonzaga and Boy Abunda, which is said to be two of his closest friends in showbiz.

WEDDING IN BATANGAS? The actor just giggled when the issue was brought up about him and his girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado is having their plans of getting married, soon.

There were also some controversies that Luis went to Basilica of St. Martin de Tours in Taal, Batangas to inquire about the procedures on how to make a reservation for a wedding.

“Kagulat-gulat talaga! Siguro kamukha ko lang!” sabay tawa ni Luis.

Were there really no plans of him and Jennylyn, getting married? Do they really have not talked about this matter?

“Wala. Actually, nabasa ko nga ‘yon. Sabi ko, ‘Sino ‘yon?’

“Kung kamukha ko man siya, ang suwerteng nilalang no’n!” he said jokily.

“Wala kahit anong katotohanan behind it. Nothing at all talaga.

“Ni hindi ko ma-explain. Kahit ako, gusto kong malaman ang pinanggalingan no’n. I’m curious.

“Kung may mahanap din kayong kasagutan, please let me know.” he added.

What could be Jennylyn’s reaction about this issue?

“Hindi ko alam kung nabalitaan na niya.

“Pero kahit ako, hindi ko alam kung papa’no ipapaliwanag kasi ang labo, e. There’s nothing behind it.

“So, ewan ko… Siguro kamukha ko lang ‘yong sinasabing nakita nila doon.

“Iyon lang ang only explanation na naiisip ko—kamukha.

“I think na-clarify na rin yata ng mga taga-Taal. So, weird lang.” he said.

FOR HIS CONSIDERATION. If ever that Luis and Jennylyn would be planning to get married, would Luis be considering getting or having the ceremonies at Batangas?

“Oo naman!” mabilis niyang sagot.

“Batangas is very close to my family. Do’n nga ikinasal din si Mommy.

“Oo, iku-consider ko rin naman iyon.”

Years ago, Lipa City Cathedral was the site where Batangas Governor Vilma Santos, mother of Luis Manzano, and Senator Ralph Recto exchanged marriage vows.

Is it possible that Luis and Jennylyn would have their wedding at Basilica of St. Martin de Tours like what is being discussed these past few days?

Aside from being one of the tourist attractions in Batangas, the church also has a historical background being the largest church in the Philippines and ranking 2nd in Asia.

Also, in this church, Ogie Alcasid and his first wife Michelle Van Eimeren had their wedding.

According to Luis, “Yes, iku-consider ko rin naman na puwedeng doon.

“Pero long long way to go. Hindi pa talaga.”

IS SHE THE ONE? The relationship of Luis and Jennylyn possesses a smooth affiliation that’s why a lot of their supporters think that they would be heading to the stage of getting married.

What can Luis say about this?

“Well, in any relationship naman, you’re hoping na it’s the end product. Uhm… pero long way to go.”

How many more possible years to go before they could face the altar?

“I have no idea. I wish I knew,” he said.

Is Jennylyn really the girl that he would marry someday? How assured is Luis?

“Sa amin naman, in any relationship, you work on it for keeps.

“Pero long way to go pa nga. Very, very long way.”

They’re still enjoying each other’s company as of now, according to Luis. And he plans to stay as with what level they have right now before pushing or taking the big step, which is marriage.

“Yes. Not just the relationship, we’re enjoying everything na life is drawing my way.”

How many years would their followers will wait before they decide to get married?

“Wala. Sabi ko nga, may mga whirlwind romance na nangyayari.

“At the same time, merong mga sobrang tagal bago magkatuluyan.

“So, hindi pa namin alam kung saan ba kami pupuwesto no’n.”

On the other hand, Luis has a stable life and is really ready to have or establish his own family. If this would be the aspect to tackle about, he is prepared to commit himself in a lifetime liability.

“Not yet,” Luis denied.

“Kasi, kumbaga, ang dami ko pang kailangang gawin.

“At the same time, inirerespeto ko ‘yong kailangang gawin ni Jen.

“Hindi lang bilang isang anak. Higit sa lahat, bilang isang ina.”

ALL’S WELL! In Luis case, all is getting well in his overall lifestyle.

Smooth-sailing is what could be the description that Luis and Jennylyn has. The businesses that the actor entered into is running efficiently and also his career.

He is very much enjoying the experience he is getting in hosting the show “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal”.

“We’re very happy naman sa feedback sa show.” He said.

Raymart Santiago and Claudine Baretto Are Still Together

The speculations between Raymart and Claudine started last October 25, when Claudine was supposed to withdraw a large sum of money from her joint account with Raymart Santiago. The actress was surprised to know that the money that she was supposed to withdraw was gone.

Claudine was with her attorney when the incident happened, Atty. Agnes Maranan. The news spread and the media was able to shoot some of the footage that happened in the bank.

Rumors began to circulate that the couple was already separated and that Raymart was to blame for the incident. Raymart was the only one who had access to their joint account.

Jennylyn Mercado was also caught up with th e issue. She was linked to Raymart even though she has a relationship with Kapamilya TV host-actor na si Luis Manzano.

Jennylyn and Raymart were in the same early primetime series ng GMA-7 na Futbolilits.

Jennylyn’s camp denied the issue between her and Raymart, that they don’t have any connection between Raymart aside from work.

Due to the speculations circulating, Raymart and Claudine released a statement.

“In recent days, there have been numerous negative rumors about our marriage and our relationship, all of which have caused us, our children, and our families undue stress, strain, and unnecessary tension.

“In order to dispel all these unfounded innuendos, we now publicly declare, in the simplest and clearest terms that:

“WE ARE STILL TOGETHER, we have not separated, we love each other, and we both value and cherish our marriage and relationship.

“Any issues that we may have are private, and do not detract from, nor diminish, the strength of our marriage. We ask that the public allow us to deal with our minor concerns without the glare and glee of media speculation that only hurt us and those we love.

“We are both deeply committed to our two (2) children, whom we love unconditionally. As concerned and devoted parents, we shall zealously protect their privacy, and their right to be untouched by malice and gossip. We plead with the public to respect their rights: they are innocent children unjustly harmed by the baseless gossip about us.

“We hope this JOINT STATEMENT settles and lays to rest all questions about us as a couple, and as individuals.”

Patrick Garcia talks about Luis Manzano

Patrick Garcia is back in showbiz and acting with his latest primetime series at GMA-7, Iglot. After one year rest.

“Na-miss kong umarte because one year din akong hindi nagtrabaho, so iyon. Very excited at the same time, you know, kabado siyempre. Medyo baka kulang na ako sa praktis or whatever,” He said

As Patrick rest in showbiz, he spends most of his time with his son Alex Jazz from Jennylyn Mercado.

Patrick said, “Masaya to have a baby, to have a kid, I’m very happy. Nag-aaral siya ngayon, pre-toddler school, iyon and I’m very excited because everyday may nadi-discover siyang bago… and natutuwa ka because you see him growing up. Well nung una ano e, nung una, palipat-lipat si Jazz; kasi three days sa akin, four days, ganun. Pero we both decided na dapat isang bahay lang ang makilala niyang bahay niya para hindi siya ma-stress, hindi siya maguluhan so we both decided na bahay ni Jen. Ako na nagbibisita almost every day, basta wala akong ginagawa, bumibisita ako.”

Alex Jazz, Patrick’s son with Jennylyn Mercado has an upcoming birthday this August 16, 2011.

“Well, Jen and I have to plan for that siyempre. Last year ang motif namin is cars, e. Now we don’t know. He still likes cars. Whether simple or bongga, basta ang importante, kumpleto kami. My family is there, Jen’s family is there, iyon lang ang importante. Everybody who loves him and important to him is there. No matter if it’s a big celebration or a small celebration.”He said

The relationship of Patrick with Jennylyn Mercado is doing fine as a father of their child, AJ. And when Patrick was asked about Luis Manzano who was heard of dating his ex-girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado, He said, “Well, I know Luis, and I’ve worked with him before and he’s a very nice guy and a gentleman. Wala akong masasabi and sana, mapasaya niya si Jen if ever, you know, if ever magkatuluyan sila. Tsaka sana mahalin ni Luis si Jazz. Yun lang.”

Luiz Manzano clarifies PDA rumors

Luis “LUCKY” Manzano clarifies rumors that he and Jennylyn Mercado were seen appealing in public display of affection (PDA) recently.

“Hindi po kami nag-pi-PDA.  At siguro if I help a lady up, yung rampa sa likod [ng kotse], of course I have to hold the lady. Baka iniiisip naman nila PDA kaagad yun porket hawak mo yung likod at hinahawakan mo yung kamay paakyat,” clarified the Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 3 host Luis Manzano in a taped interview aired on The Buzz, last Sunday, July 24, 2011.

The issue sparked after Manzano’s current flame, Jennylyn Mercado, dropped by the PGT set early last week, where their alleged PDA (kiss on the cheeks and hugging) were caught on tape as shown on  The Buzz.

“Well if you consider beso as [a form of PDA]. Common sense eh hindi ko siya ilalagay sa ganong predicament,” Luis said.

“Kung may PDA man na usapan, sana kami na lang ni Billy [Crawford]. Kasi mas malambing pa kami ni Billy eh, on-cam pa yun ah, on-cam. So sana mas ma-isyu na lang kami ni Billy,” added Luis in jest.

To stop the rumors Luis shared why Jennylyn visit him that day. He said “Para malinaw ang lahat, meron lang ihinatid sa akin si Jen. At nagkataon na since nandoon naman siya at kilala niya si Billy, pinilit ko na siyang bumaba, just to say hi man lang,” adding, “Right after, not even more than five to ten minutes, hindi nga niya nakita si Direk Bobet kahit yung sa staff. Wala siyang nakita.”

Two months ago Luis admitted that he’s exclusively dating Jennylyn, the couple is seemingly taking things slow. Luis said,  “Sabi ko nga I’ll be very honest. Kaya ko kahit diretsahan kung kami talaga. Kaso hindi talaga, we’re still dating…“ I don’t see the point of covering up. I’m not gonna expound on this. Ang punto ko naman is I’ll only answer things na nasagot ko na dati or at least defend a person dahil nga may mga isyu na sobrang PDA,” he concluded.

Jennylyn Mercado and Patrick Garcia are now good friends in behalf of their son

Jennylyn Mercado and Patrick Garcia with son Alex Jazz

Jennylyn Mercado and Patrick Garcia with son Alex Jazz

It is a surprising opportunity to see the ex-couple Jennylyn Mercado and Patrick Garcia to shoot a family pictorial for a magazine together with their son Alex Jazz.

Jennylyn told Showbiz Central about the concept of the said photoshoot:

Ang concept, happy family. Na kahit na hindi kami together ni Patrick at meron kaming kanya-kanyang mga buhay, pinipilit naming maging normal ang buhay namin na maging magulang para kay Jazz.”

It simply goes to show that Patrick and Jennylyn are now good friends despite of their different setup.

According to Jen, “Wala, kasi parati naman kaming nagkikita, e. Sa bahay pag sinusundo niya si Jazz, sa school… Nagkikita kami sa school, ganyan, so wala nang ilangan.”

Okay naman, nag-uusap naman kami, wala namang problema, magkaibigan naman kami. Madalas ko nang nakakasama si Jazz ngayon. I always make it a point na almost every day nakikita ko siya,” said Patrick.

It is also the first time that Patrick give reaction about his ex-girlfriend’s lovelife.

The singer-actress’ relationship with Dennis Trillo didn’t ended well, but now she admitted that she’s happy with Luis Manzano.

Jen deserves to find the right guy for her. At lagi naman akong nandito for advise and I’ll always be your friend,” Patrick stated.

Jen and Patrick prepares for the new chapter of their son’s life, as Alex Jazz will start schooling next month.

Papasok na…mag-e-enroll na siya this coming school year. Excited kaming lahat kasi kaklase niya si Kendra, yung anak ni Cheska (Garcia, Patrick’s sister),” Jen declared.

It shows that they set aside everything they had in the past for the sake of their son.

Jennylyn Mercado on Luis Manzano declaring his admiration on national television

Jennylyn Mercado

Luis Manzano declared last Saturday on the national television that he and Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado are exclusively dating.

Jennylyn was very happy with what Luis had done. According to her given statement at ABS-CBN’s The Buzz, she said it was very sweet of Luis to announce his admiration for her.

“I feel overwhelmed sa mga sinabi niya. He is really such a sweet guy for saying all those nice things about me,” she said. The actress said that Luis is different from the other guys. He made her feel really special.

He is actually the first guy na nagpa-interview to defend and praise me. He did what the others didn’t do, ipinagtanggol niya ako. And for that I am very thankful and lucky,” she said.

Luis is what you really call a true gentleman. Gwapo, matangkad, edukado, ganda ng katawan (naks!) good sense of humor, intelligent, and most of all, he knows how to treat a lady,” she added.

Thanks Luis for the support and also for always making me laugh. You are the one that made me smile again. Thanks for that.

Mercado said that she is definitely a lucky woman to found the man that made her smile again, and that’s Luis.

Dennis Trillo on whether he’s serious with Jennylyn Mercado: “Well, hindi kami naglalaro.”

Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado“Yes, we are exclusively dating.” pag-amin nina Dennis Trillo at Jennylyn  Mercado sa isang article na lumabas sa PEP.ph noong Biyernes April 9.

Jennylyn Mercado plays a mistress in Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak

“Sobra!” sambit niya. “Kaya kailangan kong pag-aralan yung character. Kailangan kong panoorin yung original. Tapos, first time kong makakasama si Direk Maryo. Talagang yung pressure talagang mabigat.”

“Wala pa akong nagawang ganito before. Kaya dapat abangan niyo.”

Hindi ba siya kinakabahan sa mga magiging reaksyon ng mga tao sa pagganap niya ng isang kabit?

“Siyempre naman, hindi naman ako pababayaan ni Direk Maryo, lalo na at sa TV ito ipapalabas. So, siguro talagang may limits naman. At saka trabaho ko ito, e. Kumbaga, ‘eto yung kuwento niya at gagampanan ko lang yung role na ibinigay sa akin,” sabi ni Jennylyn.
