MANILA, Philippines – John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo are the new stars of the newly launched TVC of 555 Corned Tuna, endorsing the Century Canning Corp.’s desirable, affordable and delicious canned tuna in the Filipino market.
According to an entertainment news article from the Philippines Star, “the TVC highlights 555 Corned Tuna’s unique Sarap-Ginisa taste, with real onion and garlic bits perfectly blended with generous tuna flakes, that is well-loved by kids and the two young stars.”
The new and effective commercial is about the story of Louie (John Lloyd) and Lara (Sarah), where Louie visits Lara in her house to express his true feelings for her. But this is not that easy to catch. Because in order to get to Lara, he needs to befriend her strict but cute little siblings first. He then brought the kids’ newest favorite delicious food, which is the 555 Corned Tuna, and then he served for them to taste. Then the kids immediately warmed up to him and everything went very smoothly.
“In the TVC, we wanted to show the Filipino tradition of panliligaw with a twist, instead of bringing the usual flowers or chocolates, why not bring food that the whole family will love? We hope that viewers would find the commercial entertaining, for sure most people would probably be able to relate to it,” says Macky Macapagal, 555 Corned Tuna senior brand manager.
“We had fun shooting the commercial, especially since we were with cute and talented little kids. Naalala ko tuloy nung bata ako, ganito din ako ka-cute at ganito din ako kagana kumain, lalo na pag ganito kasarap ang ulam,” says John Lloyd. “And I’m with Sarah, of course doing the commercial is really an experience to remember. We’re thankful for this opportunity.”
“I really love kids. I consider myself a kid-at-heart. Doing this commercial was really fun at masasabi ko pong masarap talaga ang 555 Corned Tuna, masustansya pa, kaya nga ito ang bagong favorite food ng mga kids,” Sarah also said.
The very cute kids as well as John Lloyd and Sarah’s playful or bubbly characters make the commercial fun and indeed very entertaining to watch. The new commercial effectively showcases the very Filipino family-orientedness, showing the 555 Corned Tuna’s Sarap-Ginisa, Panalo sa Pamilya! tagline.
Ruffa Gutierrez is one of the most promising beauty queen and an excellent t.v host. She is managed by her mother Annabelle Rama.
On The Buzz yesterday, Ruffa Gutierrez stated that people should just wait for actor John Lloyd Cruz and magazine editor Liz Uy to confirm if their break-up is true or not. John Lloyd is currently in New York, shooting a movie with Gov. Vilma Santos and Luis Manzano, while Liz is in Europe with Anne Curtis, Ruffa’s younger brother Raymond and some non-showbiz friends.
The “intimate scene” between Luis Manzano and John Lloyd Cruz as lovers in Star Cinema’s In My Life was finally shot last week on the Brooklyn Bridge, with the breathtaking Manhattan skyline as backdrop.
Definitely one of the hottest and romantic love teams of today’s generation is that of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. The two celebrities were onscreen pairs for more than six years; their first being in the television drama “Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay” of ABS-CBN. John Lloyd-Bea love team soared and hit movies. Then, other series followed that satisfied Filipino fans’ craving for “kilig” moments. But the taste of their box-office romance and success for their team-up not only gets sweeter – it just gets even cheesier.
