Anne Curtis confirmed that there is no problem between her and Lea Salonga. There’s an issue that Lea Salonga insulted the way Anne sings. But Lea Salonga immediately said that she didn’t say any specific name about the person who cannot really sings.
The columnist of news website of TV5 who is responsible for writing the wrong issue regarding Lea Salonga and Anne immediately gave an apology.
When Anne had her press conference yesterday March 16 for her new product endorsement which is Cherry Mobile at 55 Events Place, Scout Rallos, Quezon City., she tells that Lea and her talk already about this issue.
She greeted me. Sabi niya, ‘First, Happy Birthday. Second, I’m so sorry. I would never say anything that would offend [you]. She just said sorry for the whole hassle. But hindi naman siya nagso-sorry kasi wala naman siyang sinabing mali.”
When Anne heard the news she didn’t feel offended. “Hindi naman talaga ako singer at sinabi naman talaga ni Ms. Lea ‘yon. Performer ako, di ba? Kaya hindi talaga ako na-offend kasi hindi naman talaga ko singer.” she said.
Anne added, “Sabi ko, I know naman, Ate, no worries. I know it was irresponsible journalism. Irresponsible journalism… kasi they admitted naman. They admitted naman [it's] their fault, which is the good thing about it. Hindi nila pinaglaban hanggang dulo na sila ang tama. They admitted their fault naman. You know, it’s a good thing they admitted their fault.”
The media asked Anne if she wants to be with Lea in a singing performance. Anne said that it’s favorable for the show “It’s Showtime”. “Reflection!” is the song that Anne wants to sing if ever they had their duet performance.
The “Reflection” song is a theme song for the Disney movie “Mulan” who sang by Lea.
Anne said, “Hindi ko alam. Nakakatawa. Even if I’m not a singer, it’s always been my dream to sing with singers. Kahit nga noong lumabas si Sir Martin [Nievera] noong birthday ko, ‘Oh my god!” Pinakanta pa ako ng “You Are My Song” na pagkataas-taas. Hindi ako prepared! Sabi ko, ‘But thank you for giving me a chance.’ Alam mo ‘yon, that’s why I’m so happy kasi these singers, knowing that I’m not a singer, are game to sing with me.
In the other hand, after her successful concert (Annebisyosa: No Other Concert) in Araneta last January, Anne will be in Cebu and Middle East for a concert tour. She was happy because there are some people who want to see her singing.
“Although hindi ko alam kung kaya ko,” Hindi talaga. Alam mo sinasabi ko talaga, “Boss Vic, after ha, ayaw ko na. Masaya na ako na nangyari siya once. ‘Yong sa Araneta, that was the pinakabongga for me. Ngayon, may Cebu and everything. Although I want to do it kasi may mga hindi nakarating. May ibang taga-probinsya na nagtu-tweet, ‘Pumunta naman po kayo dito. So natutuwa ako na ang daming mga [nagre-request]. May Davao, may Bacolod. Kaya sabi ko, ‘Ang taray naman. Pasok!’ I wanna do it for them also”, she said.
