Xian Lim is happy to spend more time with Kim Chiu.
“Sabi ko nga, sana magkatrabaho na kami ulit para makita ko siya every day,” said Xian, who used to be Kim’s leading man in My Binondo Girl.
Members of the press were able to interview the young stars at a story conference last May 11 at the 9501 restaurant of the ELJ Building in Quezon City.
Enchong Dee and Maja Salvador will also join the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye titled Ina, Kapatid, Anak. Also in the cast are Ronaldo Valdez, Janice de Belen, Cherry Pie Picache, Eddie Gutierrez, Ariel Rivera, Jayson Gainza, and Rayver Cruz.
During the event, Kim and Xian revealed the qualities they like about each other.
Kim went first: “Hopeless romantic siya,” she described Xian. “Parang traditional so nakakatuwa…”
When it was Xian’s turn, he answered, “Her personality, her eyes and her smile.”
Kim admitted that she and Xian go out together but are often accompanied by her sisters.
“Lumalabas kami ni Xian if we have time. Sinasama ko ang mga kapatid ko, kinikilala siya ng mga sisters ko.”
She added: “Ngayon kasi mas open ako sa mga sisters ko. Hindi katulad dati na secret lang ako sa sisters ko. Ngayon, mas kinikilala siya ng mga kapatid ko.”
When asked about the status of their friendship, Kim said: “Hindi na kailangan ng label. Sa ngayon, labas-labas lang kami.”
Are they exclusively dating? “Hindi naman masyado,” she said with a laugh.
When it was Xian’s turn to be asked the same question, he said: “Hindi naman natin kailangan lagyan ng label but yes, we’re having fun every time we see each other. I’m happy and I hope she’s happy also.”
Kim mentioned that her sisters are already Xian’s textmates. The actress also revealed that she has met Xian’s mother.
How is Xian’s relationship with Kim’s sisters? “Natatawa naman sila sa mga jokes ko,” he said.
ROSES FOR KIM. Last December, Xian surprised Kim by hiring a choir to serenade her on the set of My Binondo Girl.
Xian surprised Kim with another romantic gesture on her 22th birthday last April 19.
Kim narrated, “Noong birthday ko nasa bundok ako, wala akong signal, nagsu-shooting ako ng The Healing. Nung umuwi ako sa bahay, sa sala may puno ng flowers na naka-heart shape.
“Sabi ko sa mga kapatid ko, ‘Kanino galing ‘to?’ Sabi nila, ‘Di namin alam.’ Bigla siyang tumawag at nag-text kasi sinabihan siya ng mga kapatid ko na nasa house na ako.”
She gushed: “Red roses, ang dami-dami! Na-appreciate ko naman. Siyempre nakakagulat na may puno sa sala ng bahay ko. Nakakatuwa.”
Xian said he does these things to make Kim smile.
“It makes me happy when I see her happy…every time she laughs, nakakatuwa lang,” he replied.
Where does he get the inspiration for these sweet gestures?
“Dito yun kinukuha,” he admitted.
Kim, who was standing beside him, reacted with a giggle. In response, Xian stressed, “Totoo naman yun! Hindi yun nakukuha sa mga libro.”
Kung sa pagtatapos ng 2009 ay madalas makitang magkasama ang dating magkasintahan na sina Sam Milby at Anne Curtis sa mga showbiz events, sa pagsisimula pa lang ng 2010 ay marami ang nakapansin na tila nag-iiwasan na ang dalawa. Ang usap-usapan ay nauwi na naman sa hiwalayan ang sandaling pagbabalikan ng dalawa.
Maja Salvador recently signed her “first” contract with ABS-CBN. According to Maja, the contract proved to be a good start for her career in 2010. After her teleserye Nagsimula Sa Puso ended, she had a Precious Hearts Romances project already lined up having Sam Milbi as her leading man. She considers being paired with in-demand leading man like Sam Milbi as an achievement.
