Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez talks about their life

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Mar Roxas and the broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, were obviously shocked to the introductory question of The Buzz regarding the intrigue of their marriage life.

Korina said that it all started when they are not going out. The news said that Korina forlorn or had been uncared-to his husband because of her busy career. But Korina said that that was totally not true. She said that Mar is looking good this time because she takes care of him. They go to yoga and they diet together. They talk about a lot of things, added Korina.

Because Mar got a vacation leave for too long, many intrigues came out. Allegedly there are women involve. But they said that it is not true. And they are not really separated. They said that their relationship is hard to destroy because Mar never ever gives Korina a reason to be jealous to anybody even they are being strained to be separated.

Still, Korina and Mar continues their preparation to have their own child. Korina is taking care of her body and talking to her OB-gynecologist. She is said to be excited but at the same time nervous because she knew that it would be hard for her to give birth.

And Korina’s message to his husband was: “Honey, I’m very proud of you. I’m very honored to be your wife. And I will love you forever.”

Roxas has been denied

Monday, June 7th, 2010

A Commission on Elections (Comelec) official rejected calls from the camp of vice presidential candidate Sen. Manuel Roxas II to conduct manual audits in certain precincts nationwide said to have “nullified votes.”
“Hindi eh.. ang napag-usapan natin ay five clustered precincts in one legislative district [lang]. Hindi na siguro pwede [ang additional],” Comelec Commissioner Lucenito Tagle told reporters on Friday. Tagle is also the co-chairman of the Technical Working Group in charge of the Random Manual Audit.
(What we’re talking about are five clustered precincts in one legislative district. Undertaking additional random audits may not be allowed.)
“Ang problema lang ‘yong null votes.. baka diyan tayo magkaproblema. Pero sa nakikita naman namin, hindi binabasa ng machine, pero we still have to determine [the cause],” Tagle said, adding that the canvassing board would have to decide whether to count null votes or not.
(Null votes are the issue and that’s where we might encounter a problem. We think that the machines were unable to read [the votes] but we still have to determine the cause.)
“Pero as of now, hindi dapat. Maybe sa protest na ‘yan, hindi sa canvassing,” he added.
(But right now, the matter could be handled through a protest, not through canvassing.)
Earlier, the Roxas camp sought a manual count of what it said are over 2.6 million nullified votes in the senator’s known bailiwicks. [See: Roxas camp: Manual vote audit first before electoral protest]
The Roxas camp also rejected calls from the Comelec to file an election protest instead. Manual audit finished by early next week
While Tagle assured the random manual audit (RMA) would be finished by Monday or Tuesday next week, he also said that only “one or two” instances of triple-digit discrepancies in RMA results have been processed so far.
“Ang inuuna naming dinedetermine na [root cause] ng discrepancy ay ‘yong mga malalaki. ‘Yong mga maliliit [ay] negligible naman. Mayroon ding mga nakita kaming triple-digit, [pero] one or two lang,” Tagle said, although he did not specify the precincts.
(We determine the root cause of those with big discrepancies. The small ones only have negligible discrepancies. We saw triple digit discrepancies but only once or twice.)
Over 80 percent of audit results — 1,005 out of 1,145 precincts — have already been processed by the National Statistics Office, the commissioner said.
“Ang hinahanap [na lang] nila ‘yong root cause [ng discrepancies]. Medyo may mga double digit, pero hindi pa malaman kung ano nga ang root cause,” Tagle said.
(They’re looking for the root cause of the discrepancies. Some have double-digit discrepancies but the root cause of these have yet to be determined.)
He noted, however, that results on hand so far revealed improper shading and overvotes as some of the sources of discrepancies from the two counts.
Tagle cited a case in a Valenzuela precinct, where members of the Board of Election Inspectors doing the manual audit counted overvotes, resulting in a 100-point discrepancy between the electronic and manual counts. “‘Yung mga iba naman [ay dahil sa] human error. Sa Valenzuela, 253 ata ‘yong [bilang ng] machine, [pero] ang lumabas sa RMA ay 352. ‘Nong chineck namin, human error nga. Nagdagdag ng 100 ‘yong mga boto. Nagkamali sa computation. ‘Yong overvotes binilang.”
(Some discrepancies are due to human error. In Valenzuela, the machine counted 253 votes but the random manual audit reported 352. And when we checked, it was human error. One hundred votes were added because of an error in computation. The overvotes were counted.)

Korina to Mar: Win or lose, you’re my winner

Friday, May 14th, 2010

MANILA, Philippines – Veteran broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, wife of Liberal Party vice presidential candidate Mar Roxas, said she is going to accept the election result whatever it may be.

Sanchez, who decided to take a leave from broadcasting to help campaign for her husband, said that no matter what happens, she will be there as the number one supporter of Roxas.

“Oo naman. Basta nandiyan ako tagasuporta. Basta malinis [ang halalan]. Kapag ito napatunayan, at hindi umabot sa dayaan (or something), tayo unang magsasabi,” Sanchez told ABS-CBN News.

Sanchez shared that her birthday message for her husband, who turned 53 on Thursday, was that Roxas will always be the winner in her life, and that she will continue to give him unconditional love.

“Para sa akin ikaw ang winner talaga sa aking puso. Napakamapagkumbaba ni Mar. Sa palagay ko, ang pagmamahal ko na walang kondisyon ay sapat,” she said.

Asked about her birthday gift to Roxas, Sanchez replied: “Taos pusong pagmamahal lang.”

Not yet over

Sanchez who married Roxas in October last year, believes that support for her husband never wavered. She attributed the close race to the collapse of support for third placer Loren Legarda, whose survey ratings fell drastically in last three weeks of the campaign.

“Walang umasa na 3rd candidate [Loren Legarda] mag-co-collapse. Buong buo pa rin ang boto ni Mar. ‘Yung isa [Binay], nakisawsaw lang sa pwersa ng iba,” Sanchez said.

Korina said that until the end, they will continue to fight for Roxas’s supporters.

“Maraming boses gusto pakinggan. Kahit ang lamang isa o dalawa, bibilangin namin yun!,” Sanchez said.

Aquino still unshakable at first positon; Roxas and Binay in a close fight

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

Sen. Benigno Aquino III and Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay continue to lead in the Commission on Elections (Comelec) partial count of the votes for president and vice-president.

As of 6:15 am, Noynoy already had 12,233,002 votes while Erap is in far second with 7,749,597. On the other hand, LP vice presidential candidate Mar Roxas already has 11,213,563 to settle for second place against former Makati mayor, Jejomar Binay’s 12,025,429 votes.

In a press conference, Comelec Chairman Jose Melo said voter turnout for the country’s first ever nationwide automated election was around 75%.

“Are we happy? We are all happy,” Melo said in an apparent response to dire forecasts that the country’s first automated polls would fail.

He added: “This seems to be a victory of the Filipino people, with God’s help.”

Kris cries fowl, Sen. Mar and Korina apologizes

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009
Kris Aquino

Kris Aquino

Kris Aquino is making a big deal about Sen. Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez’s announcement of their engagement in Willie Revillame’s “Wowowee” and not in her and Boy Abunda’s “SNN (Showbiz News Ngayon).” She says Korina had promised her a sit-down interview with Sen. Mar about their relationship. She expessed her thoughts about the issue during the press interview for “Pinoy Bingo Night” by mostly tabloid writers.

Funny about it, the tabloid writers asked about a lot of issues to the max but only minimally about Pinoy Bingo Night. This made it look like Kris is creating an issue to call attention to herself to prop up her popularity. She has been suffering a popularity decline as shown by the so-so ratings of her new shows. Pinoy Bingo Night is losing badly to competitor Hole in the Wall. The live SNN starring the King and Queen of Talk featuring hot showbiz buzzes is rating a few points higher than GMA’s imported canned show. Read more…

Kris and Korina had many previous shows in ABS-CBN, maybe that’s why it’s a big deal to Kris that Korina didn’t announced their wedding in Kris and Boy show, SNN. I hope that Kris will accept Sen. Mar and Korina apology and i hope this issue will end soon.
