Ruffa Gutierrez defends her mom against Nadia Montenegro’s allegation of child abuse

The actress and beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez had spoken to defend her mom against the recent accusation of Nadia Montenegro that she (Annabelle Rama) is a “child abuser”. In an interview yesterday with Paparazzi Showbiz Exposed, a showbiz talk show of TV5 network, Ruffa said that she was shocked with the news.

“Actually, na-shock ako because yesterday [October 1] nabasa ko sa diyaryo na my mom was being sued for child abuse by Nadia Montenegro. I found it very disgusting. I didn’t wanna talk about this pero for me I want to defend my mom and answer on her behalf,” Ruffa said, “Nadia sued my mom kasi the hours daw were so long.”

According to Ruffa, Nadia Montenegro’s daughters, Alynna and Annika Asistio, were one of the many artists managed by Annabelle Rama. She also revealed that Nadia begged for her mom’s approval to take her (Nadia’s) daughters in and that she and her brother Raymond strongly opposed to Nadia’s request since her mom already had many talents to manage.

“My mom wants to help people. She’s such a good heart. And me and Raymond we’re like, ‘Huwag na, kasi marami na nga kami.’ It’s not gonna be an asset to our company, but it’s gonna be a detriment pa. It’s gonna be detrimental pa for the company kasi hindi naman sila kilala and kailangang i-build up pa,” she added.

But despite their strong opposition, Annabelle decided to take Nadia’s daughters in.

“So, yun, naawa ang mommy ko and yung dalawang bata mahilig mag-artista, pinasok ng mommy ko ngayon sa TV5,” she said.

Nadia Montenegro recently complained Annabel Rama for the reason that her daughters had long hours of work. Ruffa objected and said, “in the first place kung minor ang mga anak mo, hindi mo na sila pinag-artista.

Lorna Tolentino signs contract with TV5; expresses disappointment over Rosario

Despite the strong winds brought about by Typhoon Pedring, the one-year exclusive contract signing of the Grandslam Queen of Philippine Movies, Lorna Tolentino still pushed through at the Batanes function hall of the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel yesterday.

Present in event were Lorna Tolentino’s manager, Lolit Solis, TV5 Head of Creative and Entertainment. Perci Intalan, TV5 Vice President and COO Roberto Barreiro and TV5 CEO and President, Rey Espinosa

Tolentino’s contract states that the veteran actress is set to do 3 soap operas, a movie and a possible hosting stint in a lifestyle show.

Glamorosa muna ang uunahin namin, then another two more mini-seryes,  kasi three months lang yung teleserye. And then one movie, yun ang nakasaad sa contract ko” says Tolentino

During the contract signing, the press also asked why the actress decided to transfer networks. Tolentino said that it was because ABS-CBN offered her 85 working days for a year while TV5 offered her 140 working days for a year. Tolentino added that the differences between the working days were the basis of her decision.

When asked if she felt bad that she was not given the projects that were stipulated in her contract, Ms. Lorna pointed out, “Tapos na yun.

Tolentino was also asked about the issue that she was supposed to topbill the movie Rosario, “oo” Tolentino answered.

Tolentino said that the role was already being offered when Rosario was still in its conceptualization stage. But she wasn’t able to say “yes” because of her exclusive contract with Star Cinema. Lorna also revealed that she deliberately didn’t watch Rosario when it was shown in theaters during the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Cristine Reyes states no plans of becoming an ‘Other Woman’, confronts rumors about moving to TV5

The actress Cristine Reyes said she has no plans of becoming an ‘other woman’ just to be with the man she loves. In an interview with PEP.ph during the presscon of ‘No Other Woman’ at the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN compound yesterday, Cristine said,

As to what she will do if ever the situation comes out in real life, the actress uttered the following statement.

Cristine Reyes along with Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsay starred the sexy film ‘No Other Woman’ produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films and directed by Ruel Bayani. The film is showing on September 28 in cinemas nationwide.

The film focuses on the challenges and problems brought about by marital infidelity. The story revolves on three main characters, the couple, Charmain dela Costa-Escaler (Cristine) and Ram Escaler (Derek), and the other woman, Kara Zalderiaga (Anne).

With regards to the rumors spreading that she has plans of transferring to another network channel, TV5, Cristine exclaimed, “Hindi, a!

Cristine also clarified this issue.

After her successful dramaserye Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak, Arci Muñoz is set to be the lead actress of the first-ever daily soap of TV5 Felina: Prinsesa ng mga Pusa which will be aired next month.

In an interview with PEP.ph during the program’s story conference at the Shakey’s Tomas Morato in Quezon City, Arci gives details about her unexpected big project in the said television network.

‘Pero, for sure merong kasunod, merong kasunod ‘yan. E, nagkatotoo talaga! As in after Nagbabagang Bulaklak kasi hindi naman ako totally nagpahinga, kasi I have guestings, I have hosting jobs. So, ayun, nagulat ako na agad-agad, tumawag si Tita Annabelle [Rama, Arci's manager], ‘O, ‘day, meron ka ng susunod na project, Felina.’ Okey, sige. ‘Tas parang two days after she called, meron agad na mga fitting, lahat, itong story conference na ilang beses pang na-move… And finally, ito na, ito na siya,” she said.

Moreover, the TV5 princess also admits that she can’t help but feel pressured as she plays the title role of the said daily soap but at the same time hopeful for the program’s success, “Siyempre, yung pressure nasa akin, di ba, kasi yung title mismo, nasa akin yung title nung mismong show. And I know naman with their help, magiging successful ang show namin, basta maging happy lang kami sa set, [and] maging smooth flowing ang lahat.”

Though pressured on the outcome her next project, Arci feels comfortable being paired, for the first time, with the actor Leandro Muñoz.
